did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

discuss it with your doctor- birth control needs at least a full cycle (i.e. a month) to be effective, and as other girls have advised, the first pill you try might not be the best pill for you. speak to your doctor, make an appointment, and get it done. this is important unless you want to be pregnant right away.

and also, while yes, it would be great if you could discuss it with your husband, since you can't, remember that its not as if taking the pill doesn't mean you can't come off it just as easily and then proceed to get pregnant in a perfectly normal way. the pill does NOT affect your fertility- many studies have shown this and your own doctor can confirm it. it might delay when you want chlidren by a few months while the hormones exit your system OR it might not. i know of cases where women have conceived while on the pill, on an IUD even, and right after they've gone off the pill. i've also known of women for whom its taken 6 months to a year to conceive- it all comes down to YOUR BODY. there is no general rule here that applies to everyone.

so my advice is: do what is right for YOU for RIGHT NOW (and in the days leading up to your marriage), and when you are married and more comfortable communicating with your husband, you can bring it up with him. yes, husbands have a right to decide when they have children, but the reality is that YOU are the one most of the changes will happen to physically, emotionally, and career-wise, so i do believe YOU are the one to make the call right now. because if you're not ready and you get pregnant, you will be unhappy and consequently, will make your husband and future kids unhappy also.
