It was on PTV mid-night transmission ( abt the timing) It was Live.
The interview lasted for about hour and a half. (12:00-1:30) i caught on from 12:30 onwards. The show also had a poll about Inzimam and razzaq’s “rest” from cricket.
Aamir talked in detail on various issues, and also took several phone calls. For those of you who might have missed it, ask me the questions, and I’ll try and give you Aamir’s response. eg: Waseem’s retirement, Inzi’s exclusion, Razzaq etc etc.
PS: In between the show I wanted to come here and make a thread informing you people of it, but the interview was interesting enough…with no ads, that i couldn’t do it. :o
He just couldn't justify the selection process. I saw most part of it specially regarding Wasim Akram ,the anchorperson Noor asked that what if he makes comeback ... like he was so puzzled .. chor ki daree mein tinka ;)

Why wasn't Inzi included in the squad for England tour?
[/QUOTE]
Because he has not played competitive cricket since WC. The PCB wants to make sure that Inzimam first gets back in form and then he will be introduced back. He will be picked for the home series against Bangladesh.
PCB wanted to contact him about playing domestic cricket after the WC, but he was out with some tableeghi Jamaat at the time.

True. Lots of contrdictions in his interview. but he seems to be working hard. and thats what matters, i suppose.

Oddly enough, not a single soul brought up Afridi's name. So i think you can forget about him for now. He's not in the future plans.
I'll miss out a lot of points in the summary. Ask me abt players indiviually and I'll try to answer. Plus, I have finals on 9th so the time constraint. I hardly come on here for 5-10 minutes, so please excuse me for not writing down a summary.
One piece of news: Aamir sohail had some harsh words for Saqlain Mushtaq & Razzaq. Said it diplomatically but it essentially meant that the reason Saqlain's been dropped is to give him rest because you'll notice his long spells in S Africa series etc and he looked "jaded". Plus his doosra is not quite as effective anymore. So if he instead of taking some time away from cricket starts playing cricket thats his decision, but sometime you have to decide between your career and short term goals. Same for razzaq.
At this point I must say, one of the anchors, Ali, did bring up quite a few questions that needed answer. Even this saqqi and Razzaq one was posed by him, after the news of Razzaq playing county instead of resting.
Imran farhat is not in the team because his defence is weaker compared to Imran Nazir.
Aaamir Sohail is ok. I like the guy as a selector and commentator. He's absolutely right about Razzaq and Saqlain, two guys who are of no use any more as bowlers, although both are quite handy bats.
Razzaq and Saqlain are currently out of form and will bounce back. I think it is premature to write them off as bowlers. Someone with the class of Saqlain can bounce back anytime, even though in the last year or so he has not performed up to his normal standards, but then how many Pakistani players have?
I never understood why a chairman for selection is made from a player who had played recent international cricket among some of the players who might have grudges and clashes with them.. how can a collegue be made to select fellow cricketers who in recent past was not even selected himself for the team hes selecting.. In my view we need to give a break of at least 10 years for any ex-cricketer to become a selector let alone chairman..

Ehsan bhai its not entirely about performance. Yes his performance wasnt what it should be, but his commitment was more of a cause. During last year alone, he twice ditched pakistani team for his beloved Surrey . Once for the Australian oneday series and once after the morocco cup and thats what i think has pissed Aamir Sohail & Co.
