concieving after their first child ?
Is it in the brain or is it stress related or someone needs a major intern check?
Can your first baby or birth destroy something in there?

Re: Did anyone have a hard time
Where ???!!!
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
the one entitled "sperm"!!!
Like I said the couple already has a kid, so there must not be an issue with the sperms, so maybe the female is not producing any eggs anymore ?
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
Im not an expert on this...but maybe it just not time yet....maybe its not written yet!!
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
stress stress stress..
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
The inability to conceive after having a child is called secondary infertility. Heres a page with info about it:
Secondary Infertility: Cookiemag.com
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
thanks mama, didnt even know that secondary infertility existed, will look into that link.
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
In the US, you are only considered infertile if you have been trying for atleast a year, not sure how it works in your area SaadiaB. Have you tried charting your cycles to make sure you are ovulating etc?
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
My first child was easily conceived. Then time for my second one and ...well we actually gave up on the idea of having a second child. And magically, it just happened. I know for sure it was stress related. My kids have age gap of 8 1/2 years.
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
Is it true that while you are nursing, you ovulate less often?
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
mostly you are not likely to get pregnant when nursing, but its not very reliable. its supposed to be natures way of ensuring you are able to provide nutrition to your child by not getting pregnant (which will stop your milk) But you will always be prescribed a mild form of contraceptive pill even while nursing.
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
^ Of course, everyone told my mother that after she had me. My brother was born a year later. :halo:
I do think it’s true that if you are pregnant, you can’t nurse…but perhaps not vice versa. I’m not sure exactly what it could be.
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
Well I stopped nursing an year and half ago :) so that is not the issue ...my daugther is now 3
Ira, I think one year is here too, how do you chart ur cycle, I have normal and regular cycle, how do you know you are ovulating or not?
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
An infertility specialist (reproductive endocrinologist) can run all the tests to see whats going on with hormone levels etc.
You could also do an over the counter ovulation predictor kit. This will tell you when you are about to ovulate but even if you get a positive, there are so many other factors that come into play with whole process (ie., lining thick enough for an egg to implant? Progesterone level high enough to support pregnancy? etc etc) so you would do much better going to see a specialist to have the initial round of tests done.
I wish you the best!
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
saadia.. since this thread is bout you.. judging from ure past posts and journal entries.. you do have some stress related issues in ure personal life... sometimes its so easy to fall pregnant immediately after the wedding cuz your just starting to get to know your spouse and everything seems great. im not saying its not and you dont get along with your husband etc.. but stress could be a major factor cuz i remember some of your blog entries and you didnt seem too impressed or satistfied with how your husband was treating you.. do u think those problems could be stressing you out?'
sorry if i just assumed a whole lot :)

Saadia, i started by charting my basal body temperature or bbt. Just google this online and check out the results for info. Also a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler is like the bible on this info.
I went to a midwife to get some tests done (taht Mamaof3 mentions) which she did and told me that i was not ovulating at all. I had been charting and thought that i was. BUt then i was like, she is the expert here. And lo and behold, the cycle she did my tests and said, nah, you cant get pregnant, i ended up concieving the same cycle.

Thanks for spilling it out on the open, btw my blog was private, which meant only a certain, trusted guppies can read about my life,... things that I write about to get it out of my system and feel better afterwards, well anyways ..
Well one thing about me is that I don't pretend, I dont pretend "oh I have such a great life, my husband is the most perfect person and everything is great". I did have some issues that we sorted out Mashallah and we both have seen that we both were wrong in our doing and of course in marriage life there are arguments and stressfull times, hey I even fight with my bro and sis sometimes so its normal that we take it out on ourselves sometimes as misunderstandings happen.
But if u read my blog now, its all about happy moments with my daughter/the birthday party and how cooperative my husband was, so its not that bad at all, thanks for your input :)
Mamaof3, doing all those tests might be too early as its not even a year yet that we have been trying, but I did buy ovulation predictor kit and it did show some postive results, which means that I might be ovulating. I have an oppointment this week I will discuss this issue with my doc but I know what she will say, come back in a few months and we will see then.
Ira, I did read on the body signs of ovulating and I know that method u are talking about but I am too lazy for that, I boutht a ovulating kit and lets see if its predications are right, I am glad that u concived and good luck in your pregnancy.
Re: Did anyone have a hard time
