My friend wants to have either her mehndi or shaadi on 23rd March or 14th August. Wants only Pakistani music to played and has chosen white and green as her colours ~ mom’s not approving the colours atleast. :slight_smile: She also wants the little girls to be dressed up similarly as Maria B’s daughter (in yellow though) complete with the flag band on the hands.

Do you think that would be a good idea?

That will be a very sweet and patriotic gesture to be married on, or at least have one of the ceremonies on that day. Good thing that will be a day off for all of the guests too.

If I were getting married on March 23rd, I’d request all my guests to wear at least one thing green to symbolize the special day. Also, I would probably do centerpieces to match…or maybe take a moment to celebrate with green and white confetti..:hmmm:

Am i the only one who isnt loving the idea? A wedding and a national holiday are two separate occasions and should be celebrated as such, no?

Even if you don't like the idea of merging a wedding and a national holiday, do you like the idea of green and white event? Many brides are opting for those colours for their mehndis as well as the Valima.

Nah, green and white are just so 14th Aug colors :D

That being said, green with another color is fine. I saw this gorgeous bottle green lehanaga with a tan shirt at a store.
