If you have the financial ability to buy/wear diamonds, go for it!
Personally, I find diamonds alot more elegant and stunning than any gold set.

im of the "bigger is better", which is very hard for any avg person like myself to afford so i'd go for gold...or at least a huge cubic zirconia set. but if u can afford a diamond set, and more importantly, if it goes iwth ur dress..go for it.. as long as it loosk good wiht the dress

I like Diamond. But you could get more gold in that amount. All ppl can't recognize that it's diamond. As there are less expensive diamonds too. Which becomes nothing after some year as I heard from my uncle.
Gold everyone can recognize. Most of the time bride wear dress which has golden kaam. So gold will look good and match.
If you wearing Silver work dress then diamond would look good.

diamond ploki sets also come with precious and semi precious stones...as stones are colored..it can easily match with 2 colored combination bridal dress...i mean there are so many choices...:)

ok so maybe i dont know.. but whats the difference of price here keeping in mind that gold has skyrocketed? lately i 've been seeing a lot of diamond sets on walimas.. ofocurse they are smaller than gold sets .. but its diamond nevertheless. Does anyone know how much they can cost ?

if you want an antique or traditional look go with polki diamonds, if you want a more modern, sparkly look go with excellent cut, good quality diamonds but that will be much more pricey than a polki set and i would also suggest u not get that in pakistan.

I dont think a bride should base her decision of which set to wear on whether people will recognize it to be diamond or gold!!!
H09170, it depends on your outfit, what look you are going for, which suits it and looks best with it. Dont worry about what others think, its your day so wear what makes you happy and what you love, whether that is real diamonds or silver or whatever! Bigger is not always better, if someone has their heart set on diamond and cant afford a big set, nothing wrong with getting a small, elegant set, it can look just as stunning

HO9170 if u or ur parents can afford a diamond set i suggest you go for it i love diamond stuff and think its a long time investment if u go to buy it tomorrow it will def be more expensive gold kee things we do get on and off. Over here in khi these days ppl are very into wearing diamonds.
what i would also suggest is do not go for polki diamonds theyre def beautiful and all but there resale value is not too much. polki u can always buy later. what are u wearing on the wedding day?

i saw a Diamond Polki set at d Damas...it was beautiful and its price was around Dirham67,000... if u wana convert it into Pak Rupees..multiply by 21..:)
When i will become a big celeb i will buy a Polki set..lol ;)
