Ameen. I’m just confused that to make your point, why you brought references from previous shariah which nullified after ‘completion of the religion of Islam’? However, I don’t disagree with you on that is was allowed in previous shariah i.e., at the time of Prophet Sulaiman and i hope you will also not disagree with me on that later on statues, photos, etc., were prohibited during the time of Prophet Muhammad and it will remain prohibited till the day of judgement.

Destroying something which others hold sacred is wrong. If people are for destroying idols other worship, in an Islamic state, then they come off as hypocrites if they criticise others when they destroy Islamic symbols in non-muslim countries.
IMHO There is no need for lengthy fatwas, just good old common sense. Don’t do unto others, what you don’t want done upon yourself.
Whilst destroying idols might be the subject of fiqhi (jurisprudential) fatawa, the answer for it comes from Islamic jurisprudence [fatawa] not from ideas such as liberal common sense
Have you seen new updates of the same video? It is said that those idols which kept as monuments is different from the original which was discovered. Means the idols which were destroyed by the bunch of pplz shown as in actual video is not the original but they destroyed all those which copied and made same as original discoveries.
