I personally find it awkward maybe because I have never seen in actually happen in the weddings I have gone too. In my local society it would be a total no-no from the older generations, I can just imagine all the **** people would say, but I am pretty sure most of the younger generation would want a dance similiar to this if they were allowed.
I just hope I am never at a wedding were they start a slow dance with my dad he would just
