no no no this thread is not about desi loafer lafangay, but the blessing that loafers are when you have to go and visit many desi households in the same day lets say like on eid day or something.
The ease of just putting your foot in the shoe and not having to kneel or find somewhere to tie the shoelaces is a blessing. easy to take off easy to put back on.
Its always funny to see desi ladies with their elaborate sandals which wrap around teh akles and then tie or buckle or whatever it is that women wear, and then seeing them struggle with putting them on.
3 cheers for desi loafers,
hip hip hooray!!!
PS: some ingenius traditionalists have now started putting elastacized shoe laces in their oxfords/laceups so they have teh convenience of a loafer but look of an oxford. I call em secret loafers.

I havent seen that in real life…I mean on an adult…I use those for my daughter …I mean I really havent…why would anyone put those shoe laces in oxfords…don’t they come in colors meant for either kids or joggers…
And the ladies with the sandels that have the ankle ties…again…not that I have seen desi ladies wear those…u do mean the ones that have long ribbon or something like that……still can’t recall…
and loafers…been a while since I last seen that too…maybe I should estart looking at dei peeplan’s feet…:D..ok…now just remembered…seen ladies in the moccasins…
no no they have those for older people, they look like regular shoelaces in brown and black but are elestacized so ppl can take em off and put em on without having to mess with the laces. Its usually for older ppl or ppl with physical issues.
desi ladies have them elaborate sandals where the starps wrap around ankles, or ribbons and all.. seen em.
and whatchu mean u have not seen loafers in a long time, i just posted pics of a few I just bought.
NOT the same thing as moccasins (or mokayshun as desis call em)
come to think of it, desis dont call loafers..loafers, maybe because it reminds them of loafer lafangay, they call them slip ons or mokayshun too
I know the laces u r talking about…and my daugther uses em..I still have to see an adult…I guess for older folks makes life easier…
and I was really thinking of the ones that have like a bow in front of them…or tassels…how r they different from mocs…I thought they were the same:D…waise the mocs are more the older folks designs…
And the ankle strap ones…I’d say that they r supposedly to be worn with something that shows ankles:cb:…tobah tobah Astagfarullah…!!!
…
They still would if they are well worn shoes..well loved heels.…I had a friend who had a sign posted outside her front door..Take off your shoes before u enter..…
Woodfillers…!!!or better yet…have the floor polished..They’ll have to take em off to prevent from falling:cb:…(ok I know that’s cruel:bummer:…and kids would fall too:(.
