hello inspiring bridies !!
Sorry iv been meanin to do this a long time ago when i saw the post … but just cudnt get the time!
When i didnt get any designer involved I had started to sketch my own bridal as well and wanted to give it to a karigar too!! Just put up some draft sketches I had made up here

Ceyrun u need to list the pros and cons of both and see which way ur heart is leaning.
DEsginer dress replica Pros
Comparatively cheaper/easier to change mind/alter designs/ if the guy gets it wrong all their fault so stress can be released on them, comparatively less stress as to designing a dress on your own from scratch.
Cons:
It not being the work you wanted, looking like a knock off dress,regret that you should have designed what you wanted.
Pro of designing the dress
ur efforts , ur hard work so hence all the pleasure will be yours and it will be something unique and truly YOURS .It will **always be cherished **remembering all the effort that went into it. every time someone compliments it , imagine being able to say U designed it.Plus with all the help and inspiration out there if one was the inclination and aesthetic sense go for it!!!
**Cons **
Time- Stress: big time : prepare for this- designs motifs not looking like what you imagined , changing your mind- being unsure of the final result- other wedding preparations stress .
I know 2 brides that designed her wedding dress and they were extremely happy about it, all the pains and hours of effort that went into it was worth it.Think if you want to take that on now, rather if you can afford to in terms of time& physcical & emotional effort.If your heart 
says yes then go for it

O EM G obsession99...i just saw your sketches...you are truly obsessed. in a good way ofcourse... HA!
ceyrun, if you can handle the stress, the headaches, the tears ..then you should go for it..because u'll be happy that you made an original piece that was your design and if you did it early enough..you can have the tailors alter if you needed to make changes. The satisfaction of creating your own piece will be priceless.
btw you said catwalk makes replicas? how are the replicas and are the prices decent? whats the online site?

My mom and I had initially designed my wedding dress. We had colors selected, my aunt was ready to buy the material, and get it going. My sister stepped in said why are we getting a dress from Pakistan when we can get something decent from Chi town. My dad kind of agreed. I was in no mood for any arguments so I gave up. I wanted to wear my mother's earnings on my wedding. My mom and I had been in the thinking process of designing a wedding dress that would go with them for few years. Anyway, I think it is doable if you have the support. Make sure you don't take it solely on yourself. Have your mother, sister, cousin, aunt, in short someone to help you through the process of designing, looking for appropriate material, shopping, etc.
Two of my cousins in Pakistan designed their dresses and they came out beautiful.

Thanks so much majesty These are great guidelines.. I have considered replicas as well but couldn’t find any dress to replicate lol.. I have literally considered hundreds of dresses and most of them are incredibly beautiful as well.. but this dress thats in my head lol I wanna have it.. yes I have considered all pros and cons and yesss thats what my heart says

yep I am going for it thanks so much.. havent contacted catwalk personally but have heard good things about them on GS.. @Catwalk is on GS so you can PM them I heard their prices are very reasonable

ceyrun go for it!!! i also designed my barat outfit n other formal ones and they came out just Awesome!!! everyone loved it including me lol n dont get stressed, the dress will be lovely n unique inshaAllah!

That's great! I think u should blog about ur dress making- The journey from imagination to reality! and do include the complete journey from musings to inspiration boards,changes etc ,the stress/uncertainties etc cuz I'm sure others who want to go down this route in the future it will help them make an informed decision.

theyre really bad resolution so ill replace them soon with better resolution ones .. sigh … TIME!
anyways honestly … i told the designer exactly what i want .. so basically there is a big hand of mine in it and !! if ure in pk itself .. ull be far better off in making it all happen … may the power be with u!! hehe

thats so very sweet … yes if you get time replace them with good resolution and i suggest when you give them to the designer make them colored as well.. thanks so much and we shall be discussing each others dresses and i shall start blogging about mine too.. its going to be funn!!
