Hey Brides and Brides to Be’s :slight_smile:

So I have got this idea to design the wedding dress myself.. would keep trends in mind and have a couple ideas as well.. do you guys think its good want to know your opinions.. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well i would def wish you goodluck but i wouldn’t even dare do it for myself because it’s just too much of headache and pressure to be designing for your BIG DAY :nono:. I would rather relax and let others deal with it! :chai:

its not a bad idea if you design it .. but def. a bad idea if you buy and assemble one urself .. do you have someone to do it for you .. who is sort of experienced in the bridals ..

before handing it to the designer .. i had put down my list like this ..

base color
embroidery color
flow and style
borders and motifs
colors of borders
color of shirt - if its more than one base color
extra details - dupatta and shirt

oh and maybe you can sketch it yourself too .. i sketched a couple of bridals for myself .. they come in handy

yeah I would design totally myself.. the reason why I want to do is I have a dress with even the minor details covered in my mind but cant find it anywhere.. its just in my mind and I love it! :wub:

Considering Zarri houses in Rawalpindi or Moshin & Sons.. will show them my sketches and see if they are able to do..

As compared to designer dresses it would be a lot more cheaper but as compared to local shops that make designer replicas its going to be bit costly and time taking

Ahh I see! Well good luck on that, let me know how it goes :) I'll be going down the replica route I think!

If you are going to draw all the motifs and stuff all by yourself too then hats off buddy :) i can only think as far as the colors and hues,the cuts,the silhouette,the material and thats about it.

I had recently gone to Karachi for my wedding shopping. Researched all the possible shops i could as per the list i had prepared which had all the recommended shops, karigars, tailors and designers.

When i landed there and after a hectic search i finally decided to design my own outfit as i pretty much knew what i wanted. So i went for it. Selected my karigar, got all the materials essembled and now its with the karigar for work. The dress will be handled to me on March Inshallah. Just hoping for the best Plz pray for me :)

I designed my valima dress myself and LOVE IT! Wish I could have designed my Nikaah one too!

i will also design my own. i also have something in my mind.. so i ll sketch it.
