I can help you with choosing fabric. I am getting married in August 2012 inshaALLAH and i have beein doing shopping like crazy for the last 4 months. Also designed my wedding dress myself. Some Groovy helped a lot.
Choose cotton net / khaddi net for shirt and duappata. These fabrics are the ones which can bear the heaviest of work without getting khinchofyd because of amount of kaam ( a la chiffon)
Crepe for sharara / gharara. Falls beautifully around.
what do you think of the colours, will it look good? i wanted soemthing diff.. which is y i want some black in the dress...
Im in holland. Not sure how to get a dress on time...d plan now is that my mom will get me a dress few months b4 d wedding in PK.
i saw some amazing pieces in bara boutique in lahore.. they have 2 shops one in liberty and also one in anarkali. I was thinking of gettign it made from them.. But how do i explain this to them?
I designed mine and hopefully it turns out great! chamak, you can simply go to them ask for color samples to be specific, look at their dresses, you will find something relavant to make them understnad the kind of work you are looking for. Also take the pictures if any and some sketches of your dress with you. Good luck!
I saw this last weekend in a shop whilst out looking for my wedding outfit. replica, £400 i think.... I considered this too, with more work on it as in real life it looks really simple

I think if you print out the picture of what you want, and even print out pictures of the colours, and even work that you want they will understand. That’s what I’m planning to do, print out pictures of all my ideas, and then also draw pictures of everything from different pictures that I like combined as one bridal.
Is this the “melon” colour you’re referring to? Cos I think that shade looks really nice with that blue, and I’ve seen it with darker blues too, and it still looks really good. I also love red with cobalt and navy blue, that looks awesome too I don’t know if you’re sill considering black, like in your first post, but i don’t think black and blue will go well.
i still dont know if this would look nice? im a lil worried that it will look mismatched... hence im asking for colour advice... any colours wud b good. I just dont want a dark crowded look... which is y i dont want to go for red/maroon as main colour.

Deeba, I saw that coral outfit in Birmingham a few times from a shop my sister got her wedding dress from, called Meena's Bazaar I think. Price was about £400, was quite sparkly but not sure about the quality of the work :/
