And it is probably too late by now but just to let you know, people, that you can start an investigation with WU for money laundering scam. If any XYZ person claims to be based in one country, and asks you to send money to another country - DON’T. It is a total giveaway plus, they’re trying to “layer” the money.

Still the amount is big enough for WU to ask for IDs to pick up the money and they record all the information on their system. They would need to produce an address, with their name and picture on it.

The guy really isn’t some aunty with no Internet knowledge or funds. If he uses just one of his joras worth of money he could set up a proper website with a submission form with security. This communicating through WhatsApp deal is so unprofessional especially with so much money at stake. Rather than being hacked I think one of his assistants is doing the scam on the low.

If the money is sent under his name, how would the assistant produce a photo ID card with Dr Haroon’s name?

Even if someone sends you the money, and you don’t have the exact MTCN number or the amount of $ you expect is slightly off, WU refuses to hand out money.
