I spoke to him on the phone, and he told me the bridals were around 5 to 6 lakh. However, after I sent him some pictures, the price ended up becoming 7 lakh... however, he said he would do it for 6 since people in my family have gone to him before.
I can't believe how people talk about lakhs these days, as if they're nothing more than tens or hundreds.
But I will say that he was very nice, and since we can't visit him in person, he told my mother she can call him anytime of the day with any concern.
We're nervous and anxious, and keeping our fingers crossed that the finished product will be great Inshallah :)

The colors aren't going to be what we'd initially asked for, and I'm not good at visualizing things I haven't seen, so it'll be a big surprise
Another member here also said that Bunto also changed the color combo from what was intially asked for. I think designers know what color combo will work best .

I guess so, and I understand that they require some creative freedom in order to make new and better designs.
However, if they haven't seen or met the bride, then how can they have the knowledge of what would look good on her? I suppose a great outfit will look good on anyone. But there's also something to be said for a person's self awareness of what colors or styles look good on themselves.
The reason I would go to any designer is because I've seen their work, or I've seen a particular outfit of theirs and that's what I want. So when they say, "No, I'm going to do something different than this," in my mind I start thinking "but THIS is what I came to you for, not something different." You know what I mean?
Its a double-edged sword. On one hand we want something unique, and not similar to what someone else has worn.
On the other hand, considering the huge amount of money that's being spent on a single dress, I'd rather not take a chance and risk that the finished product may or may not be to my liking.
Or it might end up being even better than what I imagined... either way, too much anxiety! lol

i went through same anxiety a few months back.. can totally understand :) but i had nothing in my mind and left everything for him to decide...
im sure the result is going to be great .. so enjoy rest of your wedding prep..

I know how that feels! I had my own image of how my outfit was going to be and when I went to bunto she totally made changes in my color combo. I felt a bit overwhelmed by just meeting her and deciding the type of kaam and style of the dress that I totally let her make decision on the colors. I feel a bit let down but she OBVIOUSLY knows a lot better than I do so I trust her 100%. Dr. Haroon is an amazing designer - you should trust his judgements. your outfit will be gorj!

... my wedding was back in december so its all done now... i met him in person just once before placing the order.. was not in pakistan when it was completed.. ami had to collect it.. turned out wayyy gorgeous than expected..

That's good to hear. Would love to see pictures if possible. What were your colors and style?
My mom and I had planned to go to Pakistan initially, but her plan fell through, and I was scared going by myself. We communicated entirely through e-mail and phone. And for other outfits and miscellaneous items, we're trying to get things done through orders. I hope it gets done on time.

It was farshi gharar with i guess 6yard dupatta (dont remember.. but was defo too huge)

Btw, was it easy to move around in your dress? I know they now make farshi ghararas that are shorter in the front with a train in the back... does that help?

well the dress was superr heavy .. to the extent tht i cant even think of picking shirt and dupatta togthr up...
but once i wore it the wght was evenly distributed.. so it was fine..
it was not very easy to move in that gharara ... esp on carpeted area..... but as it is for only a few hours ... it was worth tht lil trouble :)

What are the averages starting prices for Dr. Haroon's bridal wear? I so wish he had a website or facebook page or something that would make finding pictures and ideas easier!
