Depends highly on your photographer. Being a wedding photographer myself I can tell you good photographers always combine both traditional and photojournalistic styles so their clients can get some artistic pictures in addition to family formals which almost all desis want.
Every picture is just a different group of family members posing next to the bride and groom. There is no emotion, no action and no story telling. Just static smiles.

I used to hate that too, but sometimes shots w/ immediate family are nice..i'm looking through some of my proff ewdding pics right now and i'm like "who the hell are they?" and i'm pretty sure hubby doesn't even know them either... and as everyone said, good wedding photography has a combination of both the family poses as well as candid shots..
This is a general problem in Pakistan. When we get ourselves shoot up for Passport or NIC, our faces are so serious. Once an Englishman asked why I was so much angry in photo which I gave him for college card.
Our sports magazines also suffer from the same type of problem, you will hardly see action photos there, just simple stationary poses.
