"Desi" men

Re: “Desi” men

To be honest i’ve never come across the nastiness of desis, or knew of it til I came to GS.. before i never had a problem with the term ABCD, but now if someone calls me one, i flip out and get really sad :bummer:

Re: "Desi" men

^^ to be honest i STILL dont know why blitz calls me a BBCD :(

Re: "Desi" men

Becoz ur , according to desis, very liberal :p

Anyway, as for AmmiJee's question..

most men (wit the exception of matsui :p) of the older and newer generation (from what i've seen) do not feel that women who stay home are ignorant and uneducated and paindoo....

the thing about imposing themselves on you, that's not just men, its families who do that, men and women included..

it's mostly women and/or the younger generation who feel that women who stay home to raise their kids are lazy and dumb and uneducated..

as for point three, to serve the wants and needs of your man.. well what's wrong with that? :D

Re: "Desi" men

but im NOT british born :(

Re: "Desi" men

Ms Sara,

Theres nothing at all wrong with wanting to take care of the needs and wants of your man....but when theres a man guest... and he sees that
...all 3 babies are sick, i mean really sick, fevers antibiotics etc
...wife still cooks food
...wife does all housekeeping, laundry, childcare, marketing, running kiddies to docs, pre-school etc etc

and 0as he walks out the door, says "Its ok, dont worry about my laundry and cleaning my room, i understand" I just want to cause some pain. Esp since he COULD stay with his OWN relatives but since they're religious and not "fun" well guess what, WE have to be fun. For his pleasure.

Re: "Desi" men

^ and your point is? mama, if your hubby truly is "gold" as you claim it, then he should be taking care of this problem for you...stand up for his wife maybe, help you around the house and with the kids....I knew he is just "hudharam".

Sara you ABCD you.
Shweety you are such a fool.

Re: “Desi” men

Ohh ur talking about that he will assume that ur automatically gonna do all taht stuff for him ?? Well then that’s certainly stupid :disgust:

But u know, desis r extremely hospitable.. i know one friend, he said when he goes to pak, even if he doesnt hav relatives in a certain place, his friend here will call up a relative over there and htey’ll take him in for a night or two w/o any trouble..

so u go over there and they take care of you , at least when I go to pak, they do everything for us.. like going to a hotel would be an insult to them, because the thinking is “oh am i not good enough/is my house not good enougH”.. i admit it does get annoying, coz i remember wanting to stay at our own house but they had such problems wiht it, but i can kinda see it from that view too.. they take good care of you and expect the same in return.. things definitely DO work differently over here, i mean i sure as hell wud not like when someone came over out of the blue, having some stranger in the house..

Re: "Desi" men

Mr Kaleem,

Dont assume that Verison saab just sits back...he's such a big help with the boys etc. But never would either of us make a guest feel unwelcome - even if all 3 boys are sick etc etc. Its a big burden that should be plain as day - leaving it unnoticed is just plain rude on the part of the visitor who DOES have other places to stay. So its very mean of me to log on to GS here and complain but thats the only thing left to do! Now that the visit is over that is.

Re: "Desi" men

Mama, I am just horsing around...dont mind me. Tell Verizon, I said hi and tell him to give me a call sometime.

Re: "Desi" men

Desi men see their mothers in such a glorified light and expect their wives to live up to that image. In our culture women are the caretakers. They're expected to have no needs or wants, to just be submissive and eternally dutiful. That's proper 'training' of a woman. How could University education do anything other than open up another world of opportunity for a woman. God forbid she decides to not be a dutiful wife. So it's this notion that a 'modern' woman is not a houswife whereas a stay-at-home mom is uneducated. It's as though she doesn't know any better, to do anything else in the world. So she's just stuck.

Re: “Desi” men

Well, Desi women see their husbands as nothing more than bread earners whose job it is to earn money and have nothing in the say of how a house should be run…Stay at home dads in our culture are looked down upon…Isn;t it fair that going out moms should be looked down upon? (Not that I personally do…)

P.S. I can’t smell Johnson’s baby powder anymore…Where’s you Avatar?

Re: "Desi" men

most desi men are momma's boys :(

Re: "Desi" men

if ur man is the so-called GOLD then obviously there are many more such GOLDEN MEN out there. to paint every1 in the same color is simply ignorance.

Re: "Desi" men

^ multinick

is this another desi men hating thred.

Re: “Desi” men

Why the sad face?
Everyone should love and respect their moms..or am I missing something that only girls know
Mamaof3, I have heard these comments before… not from a guy but from an educated girl. She would rather work than sit home. How are we supposed to interpret that? Does it also have anything to do with being desi?

Re: "Desi" men

i think its unfair to push desi men under this "ignorant" umbrella. there are plenty of great, if not superbly awesome desi men out here and in general. and a handful dummies shouldn't come to represent the "desi" men folk.

Re: “Desi” men

i really enjoy reading ur posts

Re: “Desi” men

Erm, Lajjo, I believe there have been times you have badmouthed others. So what does that make you?

Re: “Desi” men

I don’t think it’s just desis, and just guys for that matter. Perhaps desi guys who have shown these characteristics to u, are like that as a result of other factors too maybe in their own, personal upbringing. It’s really on an individual basis. Those men in general, probably didn’t have good male role models growing up to look up to, therefore misusing their own judgement and repeating the cycle of disrespecting women in their lives. I hope that makes sense, but it’s just wot i think

Re: “Desi” men

Men

They think that they are everything and great and that one cannot live without them in this “dangerous and complicated world” :stuck_out_tongue:
