I know how it is in married friends…if u r meeting as a couple then comes the "sizing each other phase: this is the phase that only pleasanteries r exchanged and more or less sniff each other …seeing if they mean harm or good…will they steal your hubby away or not…!!
Then if they r to meet as** women only** then the Very standard questions r thrown your way:Oh ji app ke rishtedarooin mein shadi howi ha ya nahi.when r u or how many kids do u have?..where do u live…Yeh KHANA SHAN masale se banaya hai naa???Nahi…yeh kaise ho saktah hai?
??do u wax..or do threading…how???
haha..thats always a question in the questionairre…
Sooner then later in pakistani ladies discussions…this is one of the top listers…
ok then the usual, haves and have nots …but if u r lucky…really lucky then u meet someone that u instantly click and u get a free get-out- of- jail card and u bypass all the above mentioned check points…
Ok so where was I ..after the second and probably few more…they start talking (complaining) about how in life they have nothing to live for (over exaggeration…becuz of our lovely emotionally charged TV drama training)…
And then comes the point…when they share something with the looks and /or words…"plz dont tell this to anyone, as I am only telling you, bit…I feel an inner coonection…so I have this this this secrets…and all of this is cuz my hubby is a loser…Talk about two peas in a pod:D…anyway now they r sitting there..waiting for u to burst up running in their arms and crying your heart out…"Mommy Twin!!!..where have u been…I have been wronged…the world is closing in on me…How will u take care of me…its all cuz flah flah said this to me and that to me…They shoo mean:teary1: .its all his fault..u make me all feel better now:..Now thats the best time to be the knight…opps knightess in shining armour…and come savvee the Dayyyyyyyyy…
Now they have something on you…u wont be able to leave the clan…More then half…never dare to …in the fear of not only losing the companionship and the leader ship of the clan leaders, but also becuz of the fear of their secrets getting out…More or less U r in the MOB!! Kapeesh!!!..Now when’s the next party!!
TO be continued

I dont think people like that will enjoy my company cause I never discuss such things. hehe.
My mom is the same way (she doesnt gossip) and she never gets invited to anything (hardly ever).
Re: DESI MARRIED WOMEN POLITICS
I know it is
thats why I was laughing.
Re: DESI MARRIED WOMEN POLITICS
yes.. and it stems from gals discussing weird subjects. they tend to become way too personal very quickly. it is weird and wrong on many levels.
in the few months i have been married i have come to find out a lot more detail about my own friends... some of these friends i knew for a long long time. initially... it was details of our friends dealing with their inlaws, how often she cooks and what she cooks and how often he buys her flowers. alarmingly after just a few months... then i started finding why isnt so and so getting pregnant along with the most graphic details only a doctor should know.
but, i put and end to this... everytime she has something to tell me about our friends i see her lips moving but dont hear a thing.
Re: DESI MARRIED WOMEN POLITICS
^ bhai saab, apki bhi shadi ho gayi. Mubarak ho mubarak ho…!
Ek ek kar ke sare life1 bachelors are getting married. No wonder this is turing into a female forum.. ![]()

Its funny...but most men do play the politics too..mostly behind the scenes...until ther's this slip of the tongue by someone saying..Oh my hubby was saying that too.....I know thats the best vocation Most desi women choose!!:D
Re: DESI MARRIED WOMEN POLITICS
Its true and boring have to live it…politics part of life.
Actually I hate this… ‘acha aap ke beti hai, koi baat nahin Allah aap ko beta dedey ga inshaAllah parayshaan nahin hona’ they don’t know how ungrateful it is to say that…and only Allah knows best.

Re: DESI MARRIED WOMEN POLITICS
This is what happens when girls are raised to look forward to their wedding day and to marry well, but have little more to live for and define who they are. They are filled with regrets, frustrations, nostalgia and too much free time. Seeing others' happiness really pisses them off. The only way to raise themselves up is to put others down.
Re: DESI MARRIED WOMEN POLITICS
nice post amber and so true too!!
This is exactly why I stay away from the typical "drama/soap opera watching" women and I have no plans to mingle with them after marriage either.
in regards to the "allah aap ko beta dey" comment....
This one aunty who has 3 grown boys (and no daughters) told me "sons are only your sons til they get married....daughters will ALWAYS be your daughters til the very end". this other aunty sitting with her who also has only 3 sons agreed and said "sometimes I wish I had a daughter to sit with and talk to...my sons are always busy with work and social life....its just not the same..."
I guess people are starting to appreciate having daughters more these days.
