It makes me so mad sometimes. I dont even want to start on this topic because I'd just get too mad....thank GOODness that most of the desis I know are accepting of cultural differences and immune to the ignorant stereotype that we're annoyed about here. I mean, how would those ignoramuses like it if we talked on and on and on about their bad accents and taxi driving as their careers???? Sara, let them live in their little hole. Let them think they know best. Let them find a pretty, fair, trainable wife who will let them mold them into exactly what they want, someone to have their children, bend over backwards for their parents, and obey him to no end. These men are far too insecure to handle a girl who can think on her own, who knows her own mind and who has no problem expressing her views. They are extremely insecure and completely threatened by such girls so they equate her with everything bad in the world. I suspect that most of them yearn for such girls but don't have the balls to actually marry one because they don't want anyone to shake them out of the safe little holes theyve created for themselves.
Trust me, none of you girls who think like this want them anyway.
And throughout all this, they miss one of the greatest blessings of marriage, to be able to communicate with your partner in a way no one else can, to have someone who will let you in and let you know them in a way that no one else does. It's one of God's greatest blessings and its sad that they or their wives, in many instances, don't get to experience the full joy of it. They will miss out on challenging each other . . . kinda sad really.
May Allah(swt) guide us all to the right path and bless all marriages Ameen.

There was a time when ABC & FOB desi women had the 'blame' and 'woe be us' market vis-a-vis desi-guys-are-scum issue completely cornered -- sheer dominance, a monopoly. Now, a few brave men have joined the fray and started their own chorus of 'blame' and 'woe be us'.

This is called Culturual collission. Certainly they didn't grow in the same culture as you did & vice versa. Unless both parties are able to tolerate there doesn't seem to be any problem. The only ignorance on the part of so called FOBs is that they expect a western grown desi woman acting & behaving exactly the same as back home but she doesn't. They are denying the fact that, so called (many of) WBCD girl/boy's parents were ignorant FOBs too who didn't bother paying attention to their children to teach them language/culture for which those WBCDs cannot be blamed.
Not all WBCDs are sluts & not all FOBs are narrow minded.
