Well I for one have lived in America, Pakistan and of course born and bred in Britain, and the desi generation in the UK are far more religiously aware than in Pakistan. The youth in the UK are increasing their islamic knowledge rather adopting than the cultural heritage of their asian parents.
There are however desi's who live in predominately asian areas who do act like they are from the 'ghetto', however they kinda grow out of it when they reach uni. All the pakistani/desi's I know my age DO NOT use 'innit'/'wagwan' or 'blaaad'. It's a teen thing. By the time your 22+ and over with Uni and working in the real world then this lingo isn't commonly used.
