Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

Its been now nearly 5 months I’m in England and I’ve noticed one thing that Young generations of desis born here in uk"the confused creature" is so much different from other confused creature of ,USA, canada and etc etc. They have their own weird kidda style of walking, talking yeah and even laughing. For example..let see

They have to say “man” 2/3 times in one sentence (even if they are talkin to a women)and they have to end the sentence saying"innit"

hello,hi isnt used any more instead they use"Easyyyyyy bro" to greet person of any gender.

“safe” is used instead of bye..

they will call you “b!tch” even if you are male.

“bad” isnt bad any more its used to describe good things.."datz baddddd innit bro"lol

“laterz” is the most favourite word of desis gal..

and there are many thing like that… yeah how can i 4 get “cheerz maye”

ok now what i wanted to ask all of you and the point of this post is, do u guys find 'em bit different and weird like me or not..???

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

That's so true of cockneys but I would n't generalise and put everyone in the same boat. Not everyone who's born +/- bred in Britain is confused. Some of them are quite traditional and not at all westernised in their way of thinking. Infact some of the educated youngsters in Pakistan esp. the ones who belong to rich families and have been educated at some of the elite private schools in Pakistan are more spoilt and confused than many desis living in places like Bradford and Birmingham.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

Does saying a few words here and there that are foreign to you make them somewhat inferior or degenerate ? Are you sucha perfect desi?

Arrogancy and ignorance at its peak :k:

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

Isn't this an original topic of discussion! [/sarcasm]

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

Not at all, I have always considered the british pakistanis as more better than american in several ways. I am an admirer of Moazzam Begg's book The Road to Guantanamo & back. British pakis are more cultured than the americans. Not everyone is perfect though, I also have admiration for the american pakis, but I've always been taught "Kisi ko kamtar mat samjho". Just be a better Muslim towards this world & your religion, that is what really counts.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

I agree. British Pakistani girls are absolute lovelies. :)

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

No i dont find them weird for saying "man" or "laterz".. however I do think YOU're weird and confussed.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

I'm lost for words.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

Waisey I do wonder abt that (before TD edited his post) :-|

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

NaZoo nay farmaya

Its been now nearly 5 months I'm in England and I've noticed one thing that Young generations of desis born here in uk"the confused creature" is so much different from other confused creature of ,USA, canada and etc etc. They have their own weird kidda style of walking, talking yeah and even laughing. For example..let see

5 months...well that explains it..

*They have to say "man" 2/3 times in one sentence (even if they are talkin to a women)and they have to end the sentence saying"innit" *

'man' or used quite a bit in US also, also dude, buddy etc. ppl in Pakista say "yaar" and "jigar" etc, are they confused?

what recent ransplants from pakistan fail to understand is that the desis in UK have their own culture and it is a mix of Pakistani as well as british culture, or mix of subcultures they belng to and move about in. desis in posh areas have the mannerisms which are a mix of pakistani and posh british manners and those in blue collar areas have a mix of pakistani and that blue collar area.

**
hello,hi isnt used any more instead they use"Easyyyyyy bro" to greet person of any gender. **

well your parents generation had an issue with people saying 'hi' also, so its no surprise that the new fobs have an issue with easy. now in the US or canada ppl use "wassup" "whaddup" or just 'sup" but since you are not exposed to it, of course british desis are the ones that get pointed out.

*"safe" is used instead of bye.. *

its been used for decades,

*they will call you "b!tch" even if you are male. *

yep and thats something that is used commonly in a certain crowd in US and canada also.

*"bad" isnt bad any more its used to describe good things.."datz baddddd innit bro"lol *

abay 'anymore' ... bad has been used to describe something good for decades..

*"laterz" is the most favourite word of desis gal.. *

used in US as well..

and there are many thing like that... yeah how can i 4 get "cheerz maye"

yet again an accepted statement in UK for decades.

ok now what i wanted to ask all of you and the point of this post is, do u guys find 'em bit different and weird like me or not..?????

anyways, every single thing that u have written here is a commonly accpetable manner of speaking and has been for ages. I mean cheers mate, easy, safe...that is so common.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

sounds like ABCD = American born confused Desi
opposite of FOB = fresh of the boat
:D

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

You should try stepping outside of Alum Rock luv :flower1:

Waise it depends on the company you keep. People usually grow out of that kind of language once they leave college … none of my firends talk like that.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

I think all of this depends on where you grew up, how you grew up, etc. My husband and his siblings don't talk like that at all. Neither do my cousins in England.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

oh for God's sake.
Tar the entire nation with one dirty brush.
i am sorry but this is just utterly ubsurd.
people have dialects/coloquial words which ever part of the country you go to.
i live in england. if i were to go to scotland or wales their accents would be different and so would their way of saying things.
different areas have differences in their dialects.
gang/grp culture spreads terms and phrases widely.
my friend came backe from america and said to me. the people there couldnt understand me and i couldnt understand them. it's accents and ways of saying things.
you go to pakistan you have different areas with dialects
you go to america and you go from north to south. states have different accents, cities are different to the countryside.
rough areas have one way of saying things poshareas have another way of saying the same thing.

so please consider that accents and dialects and slang are a result of where people live and who they interact with. just cos it is new for you doent mean you can say things against it.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

LOL

True but not everyone who lives in the UK speaks like that!

I think you've been hanging around the GHETTO wayyy too much! Try changing your enviroment or something, when your around professionals or a more mature crowd / different area you might change your tune!!

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

^

Puchi, I thought you spoke like that. But obviously my judgement was based on other Brit Chicks. :D

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

Naah…Unfortunately i’m a bit of a ‘paindoo’ when it comes to the ‘ghetto’ lingo. I constantly have to stop people who speak like that in mid conversation and ask what certain phrases mean LOL..

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

british paks are one of the most arrogant group of people i've ever met.may be its a british thing, confidence comes from arrogance so its very important to be arrogant in Britain.american paks on the other hand are much more mellow especially in california where most people are nice.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

errrrrrrrrrrrrr ok.

Re: Desi generation of Britain.., the confused creature

...spoken like a true FOB.
