Personally there is plently in the western market for gowns which hare strappy, strapless etc so i look to pakistani designers for outfits which are generally more acceptable to wear within a Muslim/conservative environment. What is ‘acceptable’ is changing and varies drastically between communities but I prefer my asian outfits to be covered up!

I agree with your whole post. Especially the part about how we have enough evening gowns to pick from as it is that shows shoulders, are sleeveless and so forth, I too look to desi designers to provide us evening gowns, or western influenced fusion outfits to wear to american weddings we attend. Same goes for like the company holiday party and so forth.
