My sister and I had the pleasure of meeting this Pakistani woman at a nearby Salon; she actually gave my sister a very nice haircut. Of course, she shared her life story and told us how her second husband (current) did not want any kids because “this world is too evil to bring kids in”. They ended up having a daughter anyway by “accident”, I hope he loves her just as much.

lol…oh gosh! each time I found out it was a boy I cried…I’ve still kept those chandi ki chooriyan and pink frocks and those frilly socks for a newborn baby girl I bought during the first trimester.

I really hope they are rare. It’s sad for anyone to think like this. Prophet Muhammed (SAW) said that he will compete with the other Prophets as to the number of followers on the day of Judgement, so couples should have children if they are able to.

Also, I think everyone should have children if they can, because there are people out there who want to have, but cannot have children. I think that is really selfish for one to deny themselves something which they can have when there is someone out there that really wants this bundle of joy.

(Ok, no need to slaughter me now. :halo:)

DP but if someone is feel like not having kids then I think they should stick to their decision because bringing a kid into this world when you’re not ready for it, is not a good idea imho.

Au contraire it can be seen as selfish to bring children into a world where there are so many without parents. Why not adopt a kid pal, it’s the most selfless deed of all

I know many people say this…but that’s a flawed argument. Just b/c others have or wnat something…doesn’t mean I want the same thing. It’s different when you already have a child and should be thankful for it…but choosing to NOT have a child is not the same thing as child abuse (as some people react as if it is).

If htey’re happy they’re happy…dunno why people get offended at it?

Good point. I am not married yet, however, it is likely that i do not want kids. But you never know, whatever Allah has written for me.

Yes, I agree to that point, however, when will a person be 'ready'? There really is never a right time, imo.

I can't disagree with you there. :)

Because Islam encourages having children, and people act like it's such a big burden. I'm not saying raising children is easy, I'm pretty sure it isn't. But Allah says he will provide, and he will. I just think people are maybe neglecting an Islamic obligation.

And also, Allah says "Your riches and your children may be but a trial: but in the Presence of Allah is the highest Reward." (At Taghabun 64:15) - so the argument that there is evil in the world, blah blah blah is a load of baloney.

Yes I sort of agree with you DP. It is hard to say when a person is completely ready.

I don't plan to have children, can't stand them. But then again, my views are rare and man mullahs would gladly kill me.. :p

you're not gonna have kids, fine, no one is forcing you but saying things like "i can't stand them" is bit too much so lets not go overboard with it.

Seriously, if I knew someone like this in real life i wouldn't even look at that sariyal person let alone talking and socializing.

The couple I know say it's a big responsibility and that's a good enough reason I guess, besides they have nieces and nephews and they love playing with them.

I hope all you baby haters live a very very long life.

No wonder our Pakzameen cannot uphold the load of 170 million Muslim baby makers. I see where this mentality comes from. I could argue how having kids is actually selfish but then again, I can't argue with someone whose mentality is defined by her religion.
