unfortunately i have never come across any such hadeeth....
yes nahoosat is far-fetched, but even then i never read any hadith stating it as a wrong or even a disliked act to sleep after fajar prayer....
if u do know of any, plz let me know....
cuz it wud be good to let my dad know that after all these years of debate, i finally learnt that he was right in this matter....

It makes sense according to those times since people were not holding office jobs. They had to go out and go about with their trade or whatever their means of living was. Obviously the earlier they got out of the house the longer their work day would be and the more they would earn(most likely). Now with some people working a graveyard shift, that saying certainly doesn't apply!!! :D
PCG, the saying on not to use jhaaRRoo at night seems like a man-made thing. Men didn't like their women sweeping floors after they got home from work. So, they wanted to make sure it's all done during the day. Also, it is in conflict with the teachings of Islam which puts cleanliness next to Godliness.
irem, I thought this thread was about cute and sweet sayings, although everyone here is mentioning ones that weren't sweet or cute to them. hehe.
My dad says, "Ammi ke baghair khana nahin kha sakta houN." And while he is saying it, he is taking a nivala of food while she is in the kitchen. hehe. If we ask how can he be eating while she is in kitchen he will say, "Dono ke liye kha raha houN." hehe
if two people say the same thing together both are bound to eat something sweet that same day.
if a spider runs over ur clothes.. you will get a new pair soon.
-don't step on a jharoo.. barkat etc is lost.
-keep doors open at maghrib.. good angels enter home and bad ones leave. (pffft!)
I used to pretend to talk to my imaginary friend while I was little.. my mom used to freak out.. and told me someday a "buri rooh" might really become my friend. She said.. pretending to talk to someone.. or inviting such imaginary ppl is like an open invitation to satan and it's allies.
