No, kachori is to totally different than bhature, like you said, kachori is daal stuffed poori. Bhaturas are thick and do not have any filling in em’.
Catskin: It could be phaturey in punjabi? Not sure, but I have heard of bhaturey only, even at those Indian punjabi restaurants, I think they call it bhaturey.
