SO this friend of mine just got married back in Pakistan in December. He brought his wife here 10 days ago. Upon arrival, she told my friend that she is in love with her first cousin and that she wants nothing to do with my friend and doesn’t want him to tell her family. Apparently, her cousin is coming to the states in a month and she just got married to come to America.
My friend, who is a bhola bhala laRka, himself form Pak, works in technology and is a very conscientous person, is distraught, as you can imagine. She tells him that if creates any problems, she will hurt herself and go to the police claiming domestic abuse. His family, whom I have met, are mostly here in the US and they are distraught beyond comprehension.
IS there a rule in immigration that the couple has to live together for over 6 months or something before the greencard is given to the spouse brought over from the motherland? I told him that you should tell her family in Pak of the situation and secondly get the wedding annulled, as it has only been 6 months or so. Having no legal sponsorship in America, she would be forced to go back and she can then marry her cousin at home. He should also file civil charges asking for money back for bringing this bitch to America and also a couple of million dollar claim for pain and suffering. So if she stays in America, she will be paying for this for the next twenty years, literally.
Cry "domestic abuse"? Given the attitudes towards abuse, esp against women, here, she can deff win. What a chalaak bitch. However, the girl's alone here (w/o her own relatives) from what I know, and you said he has family and friends here, so won't they be able to back him up as character witneses? Plus he can somehow find a way to record what she said bout her plan.
If they haven't been married long, he should still be able to protect his assets. Talk to a lawyer.
It would also be nice if he can get the threat of crying "abuse" on video tape.
OR, if you're really nasty, just tell the authorities that she's been bragging about being a part of some terrorist group and is currently planning an operation.
From my understanding, since they have been married < 2 years, her Green Card is conditional and she cannot remove the conditions after two years if they are no longer married. Her residency status will be revoked and she will have to leave. If they were married longer ( generally > 2 years) there isnt much he can do. Divorce her and put her on the cheapest flight back to Pak. Best to check with an Immigration lawyer.
^^ I think 50-B is correct. In addition it may be fraud. From a strictly personal standpoint, he is lucky that she revealed herself so quickly. File for divorce immediately and chalk it up to experience. turn the page. move on.

and oh yeah, get the thing annulled or divorce or whatever. But make sure he sees a divorce attorney as well to make sure that the marriage (im presuming nikah was in pakistan) holds the same legal rules and regulations as in the US.
Just to bring some ‘twist’ in the story…how about a possibility that the guy is a fraud? His family wanted him to marry her, he did to make them happy & now finding a ‘clean’ way out from a relationship. so he dont need to give her anything. He started to telling lies, so when the time comes u ppl can testify he was in great depression in these days?
Cleaning a whole aircraft carrier with a toothbrush in two hours is more likely possible than winning a case against a woman who cries domestic abuse. Hire a P.I. and get the bizzatch on tape. And to add flavour to the curry wait for her first cousin to show up and get married to her and then drag her ass to court.
Why do you want your friend to kick the poor woman out, perhaps her family knew and "persuaded" her to marry
perhaps she can stay.... get her green card and then import her cousin and marry him and have 2 husbands.
