If I'm not mistaken then an equal number of Chinese and equal proportion of Pakistanis are also poor.
Last week, the Chinese Ambassador to India said on National Television that India's northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is Chinese territory.
Arunachal Pradesh is 3 times the size of Taiwan.
They have been making this demand since the 1950s. They have also annexed India's Aksai Chin area adjacent to Ladakh in the 1962 war.
China also supplies nuclear technology, ballistic missiles, and whole spectrum of weapons to Pakistan which will undoubtedly be used against India.
It would be a folly on India's part to ignore the Chinese military threat.
After 1962, India and China did not have good relations. But surprisingly, India ended up engaging with Pakistan more often (1965, 71 and 99) two of which were instigated by Pakistan, and also because of Pakistan's aid to Kashmiri militants.
This shouldn't be mistaken as no existing tension between India and China. There is very deep tension, only thing is that India and China like just put it under the carpet.
