Delhi lahore bus

its heart warming to see the delhi lahore bus service back in business soon.
it must be a boon to the relatives from both sides of the border. truly amazing experence of going past the punjab fields across wagah into pakistan. but i was just wondering that since most of the indian muslims have thier relatives in karachi how do they proceed from lahore

Depends how much money they have. Their options are plane/train/bus.

How long does it take from Lahore to Delhi by bus? Any idea?

IAM not sure but i think 8 hours

where do we get the bookings etc done from? do we have to get to lahore for that? and do the buses have toilets on them? and how much does a return trip cost?
also, do you guys think it's safe for a Pakistani to venture in to india and travel around the country these days?

This bus will transport Indian cannibals (see article by Islamabad the guppy) into Pakistan. Bad idea.

Yeah non-(AK47,jamate-ulma,al badar,al khatarnak etc ) people are cannibals for sure :hehe:

I am not sure about the pakistani side. But from India , you can book ticket from any DTC counters for Rs 800. I am not sure, if they have online booking or not.

No problem at all. On contrary , you will find people a little more friendly than you expected. And ofcourse , nobody is gonna know that you are from pakistan unless you tell them explicitly. Hope this helps !

i think delhi to lahore is 800 and from lahore to delhi is 1200

i think there are toilets in the bus. i think the journey must be amazing passing through fields of indian punjab across the wagah border into pakistan.

Thanks T_I_T
and yeah kabir i bet it will be a lot of fun. im thinking i should make a trip, it'll be a great experience.
and yeah why del-lhr 800 and lhr-del 1200?

Before the rise of the hardline movement in India, Pakistani cricket teams used to be greeted like heroes in India, not sure how ordinairy Pakistani citizens would be received but probably ok is my opinion.

That`s quite long. The flight (if there was one) would take around 1 hour, right?

What would the best option be for someone planning to visit both Pakistan and India in one trip?

Canada -> Pakistan -> India -> .... -> Canada

good move by both nations :k:

we will probably visit india for a couple of days next time we go (not this time because things are only just starting to get better - hopefully things will have improved by quite a bit neaxt year).

Well it would be interesting to compare Dehli to Pakistani cities for sure. 8 hrs isn't so long on a bus it takes that long travelling to different parts of Pakistan.

Can you only cross the borders if you've relatives? What about if you've friends?

NO NO HUM SA...
THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER YOU HAVE RELATIVES, FRRIENDS OR PETS FOR THAT MATTER, THEY'RE ALLOWING ANYONE ON TOURIST VISAS.

Please do not type in all caps

i hope there’s A/C on the buses :konfused:

I went to India in 1991 and people were generally nice. I also remember they used to have alot of Imran Khan and Wasim Akram pictures hanging on their shops too ;)
