As you see it and as you feel it. Doesn’t have to be romantic love only but the love you have for your parents, siblings, friends, kids, anyone at all.

I think when you love someone without thinking of a reward, as you said in your earlier post, that's what selfless love is.

One person's definition of love may not be the same as another person's definition.
It's a subjective topic.....answers will vary because individual experiences vary. It's one of those concepts where even the dictionary definition is subjective. To each his own.
In addition.....there will be exceptions to even generalizations regarding love. For example, parents are associated with self-less love.....but some parents may be an exception.

I see love as compassion for the other person. And like D6C said, not expecting anything in return for your kindness. That kind of love is indeed difficult to find, but it is not impossible to cultivate within ones self.
The thing is, the idea of that kind of pure love goes out the window when we put it in context of relationships; any relationships. As soon as we think of a mother, father, brother, husband, sister-in-law etc. we think of what they should be like, we associate our expectations with them.
