True love makes you selfless, i.e. you care more about the person you love than you do about yourself.
But you don't know how much you love someone unless they go away. That's the time when every sweet thing turns sour, beauty goes ugly and your fav foods turn tasteless, you can't concentrate and nothing you do to change your mood works.

Love is when you like someones imperfections just as much as their qualities ... love is when you don't mind hanging out with people who you find annoying and resent just because someone you love wants to be at the gathering ... love is when you just don't have feelings for a specific person but for everything that is associated with them.

I think I said earlier, if love satisfies your need to love someone, it is not selfless.

Like others said it's when you care about someone.To me it's a warm feeling and something that tells me 'everything will be all right' when I'm surrounded by it. I don't think it can really ever be defined truly because everyone's experience of love will be different. But I think most of the time it tends to be conditional, the only exception may be mother's love which tends to be unconditional.
