Yeah, except that the Quran and Sunnah suggest otherwise: that polygamy is to be practiced under certain conditions. I.e. encouraged if you're marrying a second time to a widow or orphan or someone in need, as evidenced by the Prophet's marriages, and his encouragement of polygamous unions in which such conditions were the premise for the marriage. Nowhere in Islamic history has the prophet encouraged men to marry more than once just to satisfy themselves. Otherwise, the Quran would not ask men to marry women not for their looks but for their religious piety, and to not keep "lust" as a reason for marriage. And keep in mind, a polygamous union needs to have everyone participating in it to be willing participants. If a woman doesn't want to be in such a marriage, you can't force her to be in it. If that is kept in mind, it will be no wonder that many polygamous marriages in the world today are not halaal.
