I have looked before and have not seen a single Quranic verse. I think that is the reason for debate. The Quranic verse specifically orders women to cover their chests, not their hair.

There are certainly Hadith that refer to covering the head, and we should follow Hadith; however Hadith are not protected by Allah SWT the way the Quran is, and therefore the Hadith are subject to human error and bias, and we must keep that in mind.

sahar…you have to understand quranic arabic to understand that particular verse. Also that verse is not completely straight forward. you have to take each word and break it down. This is where the scholars come in.
