Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

I think as an act of solidarity with all the people here on Gupshup you should fast in this Holy Month of Ramadhan.

This will increase your spiritual awareness,
Increase your willpower
and
give you a flat stomach

you must not eat or drink

from Dawn to Sunrise

everyday for a month

Bless you

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

Daisy,

On the contrary, we should eat, drink and celebrate a month of non-Ramadhan in solidarity with OhioGuy so that we all:

  • Rely less on divine intervention and more on our worldly resources.

  • Eat healthy and workout daily to enhance those washboard abs buried under fat.

  • Enjoy a night out with friends, family till an unreasonable and then return home to continue the same again again...every day & every month.

Bless you ALL.

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

we could also eat healthy and workout properly after dark…and enjoy the day out with our muslim friends:D as the lunch break is freed from eating!

Please do. I’d prefer a penthouse.

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

It’s not about whether I am right and Daisy is wrong; nor it’s about whether you ALL should do as I say first, but it’s about doing the right thing as I have specified in my post.

Do the right things people. Be cool. Stay in school. And, celebrate a month of non-Ramzan ( or his distant hindu cousin non-Ram daan) with me and OG.

Shabash!

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

I must not eat from Dawn to Sunrise! My dear that is not fasting, that sounds like starvation.

And, my tummy is very ripply due to lots of exercise, and my own fabulous low fat cooking. It would be kind of cool to fast with you guys, but currently I am adding an attic to my house in Florida, and it is VERY hot. Would I be allowed to drink Gatorade to prevent fainting? I don’t have much of an appetite in the heat anyway…

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

:hehe:

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

Lazy,

Kaafirs aren't built to be able to handle such an extremity of faith. Leave the poor man alone.

Ramadan Mubarik. Drink your spit when thirsty.

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

I will be taking part is some form of fasting this Ramadhan, mine will be more intense though as no food from suset to sundown is more like skipping a meal and avoiding snacks during the day. My reason for fasting is that I've read some studies that fasting does have health benefits and the 10 pounds I have acquired this summer have got to go.

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

good catch, actually its from dawn to dusk… sunrise to sunset.

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

I am still awaiting a ruling on the Gatorade. Its either that or IVs, as the area where I am working was 120F and humid yesterday. I am afraid the drinking my spit, or licking my sweat would physiologically not be advisable, nor adequate. Hospitalization serves no one...

And, UTD is now becoming six pack boy again, and exercising sympathetic behavior. Good goin'....

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

Dont forget to post your pictures after that (on Eid?). I noticed that you were waiting for the image upload link to be fixed

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

Fasting requires no drink/food to be taken during day, but incase God forbid one is hospitalized then is a different case.

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

^ no water?

Re: Dearest friend of Gupshup..Mr OhioGuy

The answer is no. But the question is would you do it if you were only allowed to drink Gatorade but nothing else - no food or anything?

I was traveling to a client with a co-worker in the fasting month last year. he didn’t fast but the guy would skip his lunches to make me feel better. We would leave from work for dinner right before sunset and he wouldn’t start eating in front of me until it was time to break the fast. Not that he had to do it but I truely appreciated this gesture. This thread just reminded me of that and I thought I would share.
