It’s not about whether I am right and Daisy is wrong; nor it’s about whether you ALL should do as I say first, but it’s about doing the right thing as I have specified in my post.
Do the right things people. Be cool. Stay in school. And, celebrate a month of non-Ramzan ( or his distant hindu cousin non-Ram daan) with me and OG.
I must not eat from Dawn to Sunrise! My dear that is not fasting, that sounds like starvation.
And, my tummy is very ripply due to lots of exercise, and my own fabulous low fat cooking. It would be kind of cool to fast with you guys, but currently I am adding an attic to my house in Florida, and it is VERY hot. Would I be allowed to drink Gatorade to prevent fainting? I don’t have much of an appetite in the heat anyway…
I will be taking part is some form of fasting this Ramadhan, mine will be more intense though as no food from suset to sundown is more like skipping a meal and avoiding snacks during the day. My reason for fasting is that I've read some studies that fasting does have health benefits and the 10 pounds I have acquired this summer have got to go.
I am still awaiting a ruling on the Gatorade. Its either that or IVs, as the area where I am working was 120F and humid yesterday. I am afraid the drinking my spit, or licking my sweat would physiologically not be advisable, nor adequate. Hospitalization serves no one...
And, UTD is now becoming six pack boy again, and exercising sympathetic behavior. Good goin'....
The answer is no. But the question is would you do it if you were only allowed to drink Gatorade but nothing else - no food or anything?
I was traveling to a client with a co-worker in the fasting month last year. he didn’t fast but the guy would skip his lunches to make me feel better. We would leave from work for dinner right before sunset and he wouldn’t start eating in front of me until it was time to break the fast. Not that he had to do it but I truely appreciated this gesture. This thread just reminded me of that and I thought I would share.
