Aisha , I did indeed and remember how you were forced to go eat at 1 in the morning
My mom would give me anda paratha roll once in a while for lunch and I was such a freak , I used to throw it away and tell her i ate it all … god , how many keemti parathas I have wasted
Prepare the Dough with oil/ghee and milk… and keep aside .
Then grate two to three mooli’s ..
Then take a frying pan , heat it up , then in small chunks add the grated mooli and start stiring it .. Do NOT ADD ANY OIL … keep the pan on medium flame .. the purpose is to dry the mooli’s water… do it in smaller chunks coz its easier to handle …Once you are done , remove the mix from the heat.
Then, in the same frying pan add some two tablespoon oil and once its heated , add half teaspooon zeera and some ajwain . Ajwain is totally optional, it just helps with the digestion. As soon as zeera starts to splatter , chop two green chillies and add it in oil … two seconds later add the mooli mix and then the salt, red chilli powder and some garam masala …add some fresh cilantro and finally after stiring it for 4-5 minutes take it off the flame and let it cool …
Guys I was such a nutter when i was a kid , I hated eating and mom dad had to give me a good thukai to make me eat food … paratha rolls took me like forever to finish eating:no: .. thats why when mom wouldnt be looking i would quietly slip it out of the window … I got caught a few times and got the thukai for wasting food
Parathas are supposed to be hard and crispy ! That’s what makes them parathey! Kher, I am off to the Kitchen to make a paratha now. I feel like it. See ya
CB remember how I made mashed potatoes after reading about them in ur blog?
I buy frozen whole wheat parathas and have those about 2-3 times a week...they're so tiny and aren't greasy at all...they cant be THAT bad can they?????
I love my moms parathas,but i only eat them 1-2x a year.
Sara the only thing that worries me with frozen parathas is that you cant tell ow much butter they might have used in the dough… … like with fresh home made paratha’s you can control the amount of butter you use … know what i mean?
Gina , you have just touched my hurting nerve ,oh my god , I can never stop loving methi ..its one of the most awesomest thing that could happen to human beings
