i bled more than 40 days each time :( Check with doc but also keep taking vitamin supplements, I was told to continue my pre-natal for some time. It all depends. Make sure to buy some thick pads...like the ultra absorbent ones and buy more depending on your need. Drink lots of water and milk, like other mentioned eat healthy fiber rich foods, avoid spicy/gassy foods, avoid too much caffeine esp if you'll be breastfeeding. If you don't have anyone to make that 'panjiri' thing, do try to eat some mix of nuts like almonds, walnuts, etc......they are good for you. Definitely shower soon as you are able to, it will make you feel much better and cleaner. Good Luck!
oh, doesn't this time just drag? you just want it over and done with. hang in there, and get as much sleep as you possibly can with a huge stomach :D
good luck!!
if you dont want to use chemicals (dettol) I put a few drops of Tea Tree Essential oil in the warm water, it helps against infections and heals too.
so is that an idea to use detol or tea tree essential oil drops in lukewarm water in the "lota" ..using a bucket seems to be difficult speciallay when we use lota anyways...

It is sooooooooooooooo difficult to sleep with this huge and heavy tummy!!! cant lie down, cant sit for long, cant walk much....and my beath is so heavy....but Alhamdulillah for the blessing of becoming a mom soon inshaAllah..cant wait to see my baby.....:D
I had a baby boy 2 n half weeks ago.will share my birth story later when i get more time n energy. writing with one hand at the moment as the other is busy with baby.
just need a few advices on food. i had a very easy n quick delivery but got a ripping at the very end and bled so much that i got 2 bottlles of blood. havent been able to walk properly due to the many stinges and felt very weak due to blood loss. the first week i only had MIL around me and she made me yakhni 5 days and made a fuss about making it for me so i didnt ask her for more.
sister came over for some days and menu was fish, lamb kebab, steamed carrots n spinach while still having yakni.and almonds, walnuts, cranberries n lots of water. and hot milk with haldi.
now she has left n i m on my own. what should i eat considering the blood loss, weakness and need for energy??
i had gained 15 kg and have lost 7-8 kg so far.want to start going for walks so i feel fresh n can loose the rest of the extra weight but still not done with the 40 days. should it be ok??
What you are eating so far is good, I mean the soup and the other solid food, keep up with it.
cranberries along with other things such as milk, almonds and water are good for breastfeeding.
Haldi with milk is suppose to speed up the healing process, my MIL told me to take it but I havent done so far.
You can go for light walks but nothing nothing more at the moment, considering you teared, you have to test how far you can go.
oh btw congratulations, waiting to hear your birth story.
congratulations, Chameli! what did you name him?
like Saadia said, take it easy with the walks and don't worry about losing the baby weight just yet. you just gave birth a couple of weeks ago- you need to rest as much as you can. make sure to drink at least 3 glasses of milk a day- my Mom is very strict with me about that. you need to build up your strength, and eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies too.

I cannot drink more than one glass of milk as baby gets very gasy after it.
I have this panjeeri that MIL sent me from Pakistan, that I add to my milk, its very healthy and good for energy too.
I love eathing fruits and veggies and it will help if you are constipated.
congratulations Chameli was waiting for your good news ........<3 i was also due on 25th of june but still nothing :) will going to be induced on saturday lets see what happens .....getting afraid and nervous.:(

yup, mum made me panjeeri too. i don't love it, but i do try to eat at least two teaspoons a day. apparently that is enough to get the benefits from it in the first 40 days.
thank u all.still havent been able to share my birth story. am alone while hubby is at work. sleepless nights, lots of breastfeeding n hectic days...
got a few more question.hope u guys can help...
can i start eating potatoes n rice?(stillwithout any strong spices) he will be one month in 5 days and I have been having yakhni, fish and lamb meat with spinach and carrots....feel like have more vareity in my food...
can i drink strong tea like PG or lipton while breastfeeding?or will he become hyper?
he is often having problems with gas..have started giving him saunf water while starting saunf n ajwain water myself..can i give him ajwain too?
should i speak to him while breastfeeding?often i m just exhausted that i m counting down to he finishes...
because i m home alone during hubbys work hours, i often put him in the cot while showering, having a meal and cleaning..is it ok that a 3 and half week old baby is left on his own and noone is speaking to him?or is it ok that he can be alone+
^chameli, quick answers as I too am alone with my 5 weeks old baby and a 2 year old.
of course u can eat potatoes and rice, infact u can eat all normal things u were eating before giving birth. Just avoid soda water, the one with gas, coke, drinks with lots of coffein, like redbull ect..
I dont know where u got the info that u cannot eat this or that.
It is allowed u can have 2 (small) cups of coffee or tea a day, other than that avoid other drinks with coffein, so I do have my daily 2 cups of chai and oh do I need it.
I am not an expert on gas problems as AH everything fine here.
You can speak to him infact babies love to hear their mom's voice but if u are not feeling it than its ok.
as about leaving the baby alone, I am a bit paranoid, I try to avoid it as I think maybe she is crying, but sometimes there are circumstances where u have to shower, so leave the door open, incase the baby is crying hysterically. Take care that baby has had the gas out before u take a shower as sometimes the milk comes out and baby can coke on it.
But if she is sleeping peacefully after having her 'dakar' then I do the chores or other things.
