i was also all alne with my daughter n u cant hold the baby in ur arms or talk to it all day,things have to be done around house,so i used to put her in her bouncy seat or her swing n she was fine .If u'll hold the baby too much ,he wont develop the habit of calmly sitting or lying in his cot ,so relax n yes its perfectly ok to leave the baby in cot while u do chores.
