Day after Wedding

lol me too!

Re: Day after Wedding

depending on which side of the relative you are from, just make the bride or the groom and both as a couple feel welcomed and their guests, treated nicely at your place.
normally in families with superfluous rakh rakhao, a breakfasts and lunch or dinner are always served in a grand way and everyone just has a good time.

Re: Day after Wedding

I can imgaine how difficult it is for girls who don't like dressing up to get all decked out the day after the shaadi. Thankfully, for those of us who do enjoy dressing up, it's another excuse to do so! When you are the new bahu/bhabhi, all eyes are on you. His nieces are hovering around you trying to touch your chooriyan or the sequins on your outfit...I think it's very cute and something that is very spicial in our culture. I'll definitely enjoy it!

Re: Day after Wedding

living in the uk.... my in-laws plan to book us into a hotel for the night after the wedding so we can ''be alone'' (embarrassing!). then spend 3 days at hubby's house to meet extended family who will be down for the wedding. then honeymoon. is this usual practice?

personally, i want to relax and leave for honeymoon right away, i hate being in the spotlight!!!

Re: Day after Wedding

It must be really really hard for the couple to wake up the next day..... but in my family we do have a brunch/picnic...

In a perfect world, this would be nice. I was exhausted the day after my wedding and just wanted to lie in bed in my PJs and not do anything. But nope. At exactly 9 am, I was woken up by my mother-in-law, made to get dressed up and then sit with everyone at the breakfast table. Fortunately, my sisters and close cousins came over, otherwise I would’ve lost my mind. Haha.

Yeah, but it’s usually a breakfast sort of occasion. Brunch would be nice, if you can pull it off.

In our family, the girl’s family sends breakfast over to the guy’s house…siblings and cousins usually take it over and eat there as well. Then after breakfast, the guy & girl go over to the girl’s house and have lunch with her family…and then run to the parlor to get ready for the walima. Haha.

Re: Day after Wedding

Wow..thats a lot of food to consume before getting into the walima dress :(

I know right... LOL... maybe that's why the bride looks more relaxed on the walima, cuz her nerves have calmed down enuff to eat.

Re: Day after Wedding

this question is for the girls who stayed at a hotel for their wedding night and also for the walima night (in pakistan). i was just wondering...did some one pick u up to be taken to the guys house...or did u drive to the house???

Re: Day after Wedding

What is kheer khilane ki rasam? Is that literally feeding the bride and groom kheer?
