I think Dave’s jokes are way better than Jay’s. Leno is too tied up in his stand up routine even though he’s been doing
‘Tonight Show’ for quite a long time now.

conan is probably better than both in my opinion.however,leno is better than letterman when we compare the two.although i dont mind watching letterman either.
I agree that Leno's monologue is longer than letterman's but that doesn't mean that he tells better jokes. Every night about eighty percent of his jokes are corny and he admits to it by saying that some nights writers aren't in mood.
I admit that Letterman has been telling less and less jokes lately, but it's the quality that matters not the quantity.
On a separate not, please observe their conversations with guests and instantly you'll notice that David Letterman has better skills in this department. Like sometimes when they get guests which are new to showbiz or athlets Jay Leno can't carry a conversation yet alone a good conversation.
Ratings? what ratings? Letterman has been winning Grammy for the last four years in a row. Where is Jay Leno?

Just to clear your misconception, Leno did have better rating for a while during 98-99 but that was it, since early last year Letterman has reclaimed higher ratings.
See Letterman is more genuine and creative, Leno just does punchlines and thats pretty much it. Beside, Leno never quits showing how good of a friend he is with his guests, and always praising them. Letterman is more fun with the friends. Also, Letterman is more interactive, and keeps coming up with new stuff.

Please don't get into 'attitudes towards Muslims'. They both are probably equal when it comes to things like that. But giving one point each to both in my books are not fair.
Jay leno was a good comic. He was the first comic to get the highest salary until Seinfeld top that.
Why don't you all watch Letterman on monday night and Leno on Tuesday, or any other day for that matter, and contrast. See for yourself.
Plus I think CBS Orchestra is way better than NBC's Tonight show band. Well that's another debate and I certainly don't like to open that can ;-)

Although when it comes to talk shows in general, no one comes close to Dennis Miller

Y2mu yaar Leno makes okes about immigrants, blacks low income Americans and Muslims. If you have ever heard his monologue whenever he mentions Muslims its just plain stereotyping.
He once did this skit on DISNEY WORLD in Iran skit and I remember many Political organizations protested that and this was also in the papers.
As for Eubanks! I dont know what you find so funny about the guy! Leno is talks to him when crowd doesnt react well on the jokes. Motice it, he will turn to Eubanks when the joke is killing and you can hear the crowd being silent. All Jay knows is to make fun of Eubanks being single and smoking pot!
I think Max Weinberg amongst all is the best side kick and Andy Rickter is still being missed!

Don't drag Miller into this. I absolutely love Dennis Miller's show on HBO. I think
he is very intelligent and his jokes are just amazing. Hands Down. The problem is
he's show is not for the main stream and you can't show it (until you beep like 1000 times) on a regular tv.
Conan and Kilborn are the most likely replacements of Leno and Letterman. But they have a long way to go before they can even envision grabbing the attention of
post late-news audience.
Kevin Eubanks sucks. Paul talk too much but his small compositions are amazing. Just listen and you'll feel it.

There are definitely similarities between Bill Maher and Dennis Miller show. But you can’t compare one to the other.
What about Jon Stewart show on Comedy Central? or Chris Rock on HBO (both of which I never seen) But I did get a chance to catch Tom Green couple of times and I think he’s a perfect example of a spoiled child.
Craig and Conan both have messed up musicians because their shows have yet to attract more than hundred audience (oouch)
