The guppies' replies are not going in the same direction as mentioned in the started post. Are we talking about "dating" or "life partner" ?? There is a difference b/w the criteria set for dating or choosing life partner. Well, if we are talking about "dating" it depends upon the players' immediate need and/or desire. If we are talking about a life partner, we will use the word "partner" not a player. And the criterial for selecting a partner entirely different and does not based on any immediate need, desire, and/or covered the one's perceived horizon of his/her life.

yes, life partners are also "players" in their field, but the typical words "boyfriend/girlfriend" cant be termed as "life partners" and if we will include "b/f-g/f" in the holly relationship of "husband/wife" .. it will mean that we are advocating the so called "advaned" countries' favorite relation "trial marriages" .... give me a break, horrible

dating for the sake of just dating and passing time…is just playing around…hence they are players…some ppl have lost count of how many gf/bfs theyve had…its very sad…cuz i think it loses the appeal of marriage etc..

In my original post i was making a general point which could refer to potential life partners or someone you simply deal with or date...
First of all for a lot of people dating leads to soemone becoming a potential life partner...its not like you simply pick a potential life partner from a lineup is it?...
That relation has to be developed...and fact is it wont devlop for me if on my first date i dont find her physically attractive...being physically attractive is the prerequisite for anything else to develop...so for instance in the discussed post the girl was 6'1 so i never saw her after that so you wouldnt have this issue with a potential life partner because for them to become a potential life partner you would have been satisfied with the physical aspects already...
If anything these factors matter less if it just a girl you want to have fun with...like someone said both short and long girls have their advantages so whilst with a girl you are dating being 4 inches shorter than her would be an issue..simply having physical fun if that is what you seek eliminates all the issues of being shorter etc cos its not like you are dating them or anything...you standards will tend to drop and you will be less picky if you are looking to have fun in comparison to a girl you want a relationship with...
And thidly as a general point in regards to dating...there is some nonsense floating around...

Heres a scenario...My friend has been trying to get married for threee years and he finally got married this year...hes Islamic so he did the whole mahram thing...the amount of girls he met was ridiculous...essentially it was dating except he had mahram...he'd have one meeting with a girl and say to me i didnt like her so im not gonna see her again or she was nice im gonna see her again...now the girl he got married to he obviously met her quite a few times and they ended up getting married...
Its not actually that much different from all the 'players' you lot label...so guys who have dated allow girls cos they dont like them and carry on things with girls that they like...they break up when things dont get work and may end up getting married when things do work...Dating is a process...
Passing time and simply having fun are different things to dating...you dont need to date a girl to have fun with a girl do you?...if all you wanted to do was to have fun and pass time she wouldnt become you girlfriend would she?...

Thoughtful … what to say, i will say again, the “typical” word dating may be of some serious/sincere efforts from girls end to find a good match .. but .. as for as guys are concerned … their level of sincerety and seriousness is in doubt, these are not my words, everyone of us have some knowledge on current affairs and social/family problems being faced by muslim countries, and no need to mention that this social problem has converted to cultural curse for advance nations. Let’s see the origin/history of the words “Cupid”, Valentine, Crush, etc. etc. … and let’s examine who is a looser in this game. some “poor” thoughts of mine:confused:

Heres what iv noticed...boys when they get screwed over dont moan for eternity about how bad girls are...girls when they get screwed over tend to moan forever...and if you want refer to my thread about asking whether its a crime to not like you back...cos from experience girls deal with rejection by making the guy into a monster...they havent actually been screwed over by somone bad they just got rejected by someone who did the right thing and left them cos he wasnt into them...

UNTIL! some time in 2002.. when friend of mine from college, his girlfriend SEEMED to be a lil taller than him.. and loved wearing heels ...
after that i thought about this, felt embarrassed but still, mind always compares.. and in the end i think i realized it didnt matter.. these are the things that i worried like when i was 16-17 so there WAS a stage.. but not after that.. practicality takes over after that..
yes i've been around women that were taller than me.. didnt bug me .

whilst i know you have to be attracted to your partner, picking your life partner on height, weight and other physical attributes is immature...i know this because when i was less mature i thought the same way, but when you grow up, you will realise that the personality and character is more important.
i love my shorty and even if i could make him taller i wouldn't, as that would change him and i love him exactly the way he is!!!
