Saba Qamar is a really doing a good job. So is Ahsan Khan. I'm not so thrilled by either Fawad or Sanam....they over act sometimes...

umm saw the recent episode....phew...that was intense...i am NOT looking forward to next week's episode...i got scared from the clips :(

Just starting watching it and am on the second episode. while i agree that some characters are kinda weird and some actors are bad but i LOVE the feel of the drama. the clothing, the novelish dialogues, the back ground score and the period romance... esp the period romance. the scenes between fawad and sanam are unabashedly cheesy and I am loving them.

very well made drama. I watched all 8 episodes back to back.. Frick it's 5:00 am now:s i am scared about what's going to happen in the next episode.

Bilal Khan (age 31) has died in a tragic fire accident in Islamabad. He does a guest appearance in Dastaan :(

my sister told me what happens in the novel, I am not sure if the drama is following the novel exactly, but it's safe to assume that the next few episodes are going to be very tragic :'(

omg... this episode was soo tragic :( i couldnt hold my tears back, awesome acting by every single person.

Heartbreaking scenes in episode 8, even more so when you compare it to the current situation in Pakistan. Suffering isn't a distant memory for Pakistanis, it's something we still go through day in day out.

saw episode 9...i have never seen something so tragic in my life...i can't believe the sacrifices our forefathers made so we would have our own country...really makes me wonder what we are doing to the gift they gave us after so much bloodshed

same here. I had to forward thru episode 9. It was too much for me to watch :( :(
During partition the excuse was that hindus and sikhs are killing the muslims but what is happening now where muslims are killing their own brothers and raping their own sisters? How do people justify that in their own hearts and minds after they butcher their own brothers like they are animals.

I agree with you completely! this episode really made me cry , i have no words to explain how i felt.. i wish the politicians could watch this..

Thats very true. The reason Pakistan was made so muslims from all over india with different backgrounds, could practice their religion freely. However today in Pakistan its totally different, Muslims are fighting against each other whether it be for land or anything else. We all came from the 1 god and to him we pray and are obedient to and to him we are answerable. Muhammed SAW in his last speech to his Ummah said No Arab is superior to a non Arab and a Non Arab is not superior to an Arab.

Yes i watched the drama! Excellent acting and all the issues have been portrayed well. Since watching this drama i have been more interested in Pakistan's independence and it has given me a greater insight for all the sacrifices our forefathers have done for us. I ask my dada about the partition, he tells me little things and he brushes of the rest.

^^ yes I wish someone would do a pure documentary on the Partition. (Maybe it has been done before and we just haven't heard about it??)
The numbers they quoted in the play were startling to say the least - the muslim population in certain "states" were reduced from 25% to 9%!!!!!

seriously it was heart breaking when raam slapped sanam and sameena so hard and genuinely and then the change of his friend's mind was so touchy though he did it at the name of bhagwaan

they are just robots so no advantage would be benefited if they watch it
