Darzi

I’m sure every single Pakistani female can relate to this…
I just got back my 8 joRay that I had got for the summer and the darzi has spoiled ALL 8 of them without exception
har single kameez ka BERA GHARAK keeya hoa hae :mash:
he sewed al of them like not kameezes but lafafay :smack:
Now starts the endless trips back and forth to his shop “X bhai kameez theek kar deyn” and he’ll be like “haanji parSon mil jayegi” and then I’ll go there parSon and he’ll be like “jee kareegar nai aya tha, bijli chali gai thee, haRtal thee” bla bla :smack:
And then I’ll have to make trips BACK n FORTH n BACK n FORTH till FINALLY he gives em back to me fixed aur Tab tak agla season aa chuka ho ga :hehe:
Seriously, darZiz…u can’t live with them u can’t live without them :smack:
jiTnay chakkar ye apni dukaan pe lagWatay haen banDa dieting waghera choR de isi se paTla ho jaye
Sometimes I think maybe I should just sew my clothes myself Kyunke jitna taym un kay paas janay mein laGta hae, not to mention you pay them as well, is se acha banda apnay kapre khud c le aur syapa hi mukayay sara
its like har haftay kamazkam do chakkar toh darzi kee dukaan le laGtay haen…
banda jitna apnay saGay rishtaydaaron se nai mlta utna darzi se milta hae :hehe:

Re: Darzi

Irem, imagine how I feel. They destroyed my most expensive suits and I didn’t have time to have them fixed cause we had to come back here. They made my churidaar pajamas the size of some little girl. I mean, come on … if you have my measurements, then make it the right length at least.

Apparently, they do it on purpose so that they can keep all the extra kapra and make clothes out of them to sell on the side.

Re: Darzi

i hate darzi's, when i was in pak, they ruined my all important princess lenga! i was so mad, went back to them and even though my aunty said i wasnt allowed to speak, i threw the awful lenga that he had made for me in his face and told him to wear it..in urdu of course! he laughed at me, which made it 10 times worse...then i made him make the rest of my outfits free of charge.

P.S irem too much urdu in ur thread, i cant understand half of it...:p

Re: Darzi

baar baar chakkar lagwa raha hai…and u say, he calls u masoom and sidhi…:flower1:

Re: Darzi

Mehnaz yaar that sucks :frowning: Hmmm…will you have a chance to get them fixed later on? You should bring them when you come back to Pak.
The same thing happens to my cousins sometimes when they come from the UK. This time the darzi made their ENTIRE stock of clothes too tight, imagine, so ALL that money went to waste.
They can’t even wear any of those suits.
The darzis don’t keep the kapra or something, I don’t think they do, its just they are careless and not SO professional.
The best thing to do is to keep time on your hands if you are visiting so that you can collect the clothes in advance and test them so you don’t have to collect them on the last day and go home with clothes of the wrong size.

Oh wow M_M you sound like one of those girls who know how to get the darzi to do his work :hehe: Go girl  :k:
I’m still learning the ropes unfortunately, I totally need to be more strict with him!!!
So what happenned to your lehnga in the end? Did he fix it?
I HATE it when that happens man. seriously.
p.s. Which Urdu words can’t you understand, tell me? I’ll translate em for ya

Re: Darzi

Afia baji time nai hota na :frowning: shaam tak toh job karti hoon :frowning: ghar aa k thora idhar udhar jhak maarti hoon
oopar se i feel ke darzi kee silai zyada safai wali ho gi..
lekin u know u r SO right…seriously…meri family kee aksar khavateen seeti haen khud se apnay kapray mein hi hoon aik nikammi :smack:

Re: Darzi

chanda, i dont understand any of the urdu words u wrote…i can take it in small doses, but when mixed with english, not so much :bummer:

well, the story with my princess lenga, which took me 3 months to find!! i took it to the dariz’s as soon as we got to pak, we were there for abt 4-5 weeks so he had plenty of time, i explained in english, urdu and punjabi what i wanted done, he kept saying “ji teek hai…we’l do it” and he promised it would be exactly the same. i got it back 4 days before we were leaving for home and he used the wrong material, the wrong colour embroidery and its the wrong style, shape everything! i kicked off big time. I dont like being lied to and he lied to me man!! i was initially gona let my aunty handle the situation, but he started coming out with crap like “the design i gave was awful and his design was better” then i lost it…i dont actaully remember the whole discussion, but i used a mixture of urdu, english and punjabi to tell him to stuff it and make me a new lenga and 2 new suits in 4 days, otherwise i would make him wear the ruined lenga!

Its because he lied to me, i cant stand being lied to… i think he was scared of the fact that i was using 3 languages to explain my anger

Re: Darzi

satya naas is like destruction

so u san say satya naas ho tera - kinda like go to hell or may u be destroyed (but its not used in such a serious manner)

bera gharq is also an equivalent of satyanas

Re: Darzi

cool, u see i dont actaully use these terms as much, but i hear them. is it urdu or punjabi? sorry for ruining ur thread love.

Re: Darzi

i tell u why...u let yr mom do all the girly things for u......khair u'll learn....then u can come practice on me...:)

Re: Darzi

M_M no probs yaar, ask away, waise im not even an expert on some of the hardcore terms
satya naas is i think punjabi
and bera gharq is i think urdu

ghulail heheh yeah my mom used to take care of everything but since i’m a big girl now (more like at the doorstep of auntyhood :hehe: ) i better learn to tackle the ropes now
