How do you people feel when others use such endearments towards you?I mean if people are really free with such endearments, doesnt it sort of lose its special ring? I guess that most of us often use these words with babies and kids, but I mean between perhaps friends or significant others - does it still remain special if the person uses them not just for you, but all other friends of his/hers?
aww chick are you feeling left out
i refuse to stop calling everybody else chick ![]()
Are such terms classed as “special”? For me, its just something i add at the end or the beginning of everything i say, i use the same term for everyone and i don’t really think theres anything “special” about it.
I thought others like it when i call them hunni or sweetie
well i feel good when they call me hunni ![]()
Missy-- You have traumatized my romantic thoughts. I know that a lot of people use these and they dont have a special meaning, but I find that rather sad. I mean they've become buzzwords; arent endearments supposed to have special meanings ?
Sadira--- yes.. I always thought there was a special feeling related to these words.
stop editing yaar… yeah there is! ![]()
MQ babe I only call you babe because you are special to me ![]()
Zakk!!!!
faints
Good thread I once called Irem sweetie and she got all bent out of shape. On the same token I would like to call all you gals.. Dolls and Sweetie. Is that alright?
I didnt mean just here on gs - I meant anywhere else too. Doesnt overusing these words make them meaningless?
As for your above comment (here on gs) there are certain people that may call me such names, others arent allowed to so though. I prefer being addressed by my nick unless ofcourse its one of my friends. But they also better mean it in a special way.:o

Darling jee, arent these words meanigless in the first place?
I had adjectives in mind.
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.
& after hearing those sweet words, u'll force them into an indefinite exile.
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.

LOL
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.
it may seem loses its special appeal, but trust me when someone you want to hear from say a simple word or this will mean lot more than this, so dont worry.
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.
Verizon , rally and mal1k fine mazak ourao! When I use these words or somebody uses them to me, it better be special or exile it is!
shak--- No, it depends. I mean if people overuse those words, they mean nothing to me.
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.
its depends who it is...i wont say to anyone im not confortable with. I use shehzaade with the 2 guys im close with, and jaaniya with a few of my girl friends...oh haan and my best freind is affectionatly called yaarni :)
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.
I don’t really think it’s the word that matter MQ..it’s who it’s coming from. Even a simple greeting from the one I love would make me
. And any ol stud callin me hunny bun and sugar lips just won’t do it for me. ![]()

My sweet Muslim_barbie no one is making fun here. One usually uses these salutations (dolly, love, chick, in M_M's case petal) as adjectives. Please don't exile me. You are special to me, very special.:D
Re: Darling , love, sweety , etc.
