PS. the khadims at ahmer sharif has become like pandits of banaras. they are only after your money.

but i can tell you that it is a very spiritual place, it should be top in the list of any pakistani's visiting india

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

I am from india i had visited Dargah of Hazrat garib nawaz thrice in my life time…:alhamd:

but what kaka said is truth…khadims are very greedy and they insult zairin every now and then…

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

I went to Ajmer Shariff 3 years ago. No, carrying the tokri of flowers on your head is not mandatory (I didn't) - but I believe it's considered ehteraam to do so. I don't remember the pink tissue dupattas you're referring to, but if it was a rasam, the galis leading to the dargah are filled with vendors selling whatever you "need."

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

*Ajmer is THE Centre for SHIRK...ALL Muslims must refrain from going there. my father once said and it's so true...if mushriks gather in any so-called Islamic gatheringd, it's NOT Islamic at all because shirk is ZID [opposite] of wahdaaniyat [Oneness of God]. All the activities in and around that and similar places is NOT a place for Islamic gatherings. it's for best suited for shirk. everything bad imaginable happens there 24/7. think twice b4 you go there or any other similar mazaars.

^ Thank you for emphasizing your comment with bolded green font.

Out of curiosity, are you saying going to ANY mazaar is shirk or just to one where mushriks may have access and go to as well.

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

**welcome...any mazaar where shirk is practiced...sajda, chaadar, mannat, saaHib e qabr se apnii muraadeN maangnaa...aur bhii bahot sii GHair Islamii Haraakaat hotii haiN vahaaN...

...Islam meN sirf 3 masaajid ke liye safar jaaiz hai...mazaar ke liye safar karna hii sire se jaaiz nahiiN.**

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

all mazars (abdullah shah ghazi, data nagri, dargah ajemeer, sehwan shareef, etc etc ) are transformed into the center of shirk. All the activities going on is not even close to Islam.

It is ok to visit there but making your visit with the intention of Hajat Rawai is totally against the teaching of Islam. May Allah tala help us to understand the teaching of those buzurgs/saints. Aameen.

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

i aggree with KKF and STA..

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

I am also in agreement with these gentleman…unfortunately, this practice runs rampant in my family (along with gyaarveen ki fatiha and other odd practices)…I would have no problem visiting famous mazars (Ajmer Sharif/Haji Ali etc) purely from a tourist/curiosity standpoint…but all that chaadar charana and maatha taykna stuff :nono:

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

well people please i didnt ask about shirk..i asked about some particular thing if u know please tell otherwise dont make this thread about shirk etc...

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

Is that like a first? Will miracles never cease :hehe:

And actually I agree with you all as well. I believe if you visit a mazaar, you can recite fateha for the deceased, but in terms of asking/praying for a mannat or dua, only Allah (swt) grants our duas.

All the while I was there, I kept saying in my mind, Allah (swt) you know my neeyat and you know what’s in my heart. We went because it was part of the tour of Agra-Delhi-Rajasthan.

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

alright!

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

well carrying it over your head may mean that you are showing extra respect. usually in india if you bring something for someone over your head then it means you are giving them importance and respect. though i carried it in my hand only.

second, the pink turban is the dastaar. they do rasam of dastaar bandi to you. they did especial dastaar for zardari.

shirk or not, i like that place. people may have different opinion depending upon their belief and understanding but i think people who visit that place dont pay much attention to it.

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

At 2:10 … most of the people visiting the dargah are Hindus … If I were to go, I would simply offer fatihah and leave …

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

calling a practice as shirk is ok...but calling a tomb of a saint as center of shirk is too much.....

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

So can you ask your lord for something in Sadaq of his beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH ?

And you can visit / travel to visit any shrine - as long as you don't practice things strictly forbidden in Islam . I have never heard the allowance clause , only for three mosques .

There is nothing wrong with Ziyarat-e-Qaboor , if done for the purpose of offering fateh , seeking spiritual guidance , feeling the fear of death and after life .

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

Calling a practice as shirk is only allowed when it clearly goes out the boundaries and teachings of Islam .

Shirk is when you equally associate someone to Allah SWT and offer your prayers to him , considering him your Mula / God / creator .... And assign him the same attributes , reserved only for the true creator of this whole universe .

So there is a technical difference , one needs to understand here !

paying a Sajda-e-Tazamii ( Although it is not allowed in Islam but it is not shirk , as such acts are not done with intention of claiming the party as creator or Allah ). But as such practices were not encouraged and disliked by Muhammad ( PBUH) and Allah , so One shouldn't practice it .

Re: dargah ajmeer shareef(khwaja gareeb nawaz)

Even on the rational front the idea of there being different types of sajuud is hard to refute ... because the angels were instructed to prostrate before the form of Adam (AS) denoting their symbolic subservience. However, when they prostrate to Allah (SWT) they do so in worship as well.
