Do they have Abdur Rehman as backup spinner in SA? He is named in the 30-member WC list, but I am not sure if he actually went to SA with the team.

Kaneria didn't bowl badly, he just didn't get wickets. He should've been kept, or at the very least, Abdur Rehman should've been played in his place.
Also, Gul shouldn't be rushed. The last thing Pakistan needs is Gul aggravating his injury and missing the World Cup.

In the presence of another spinner in the squad I would have welcomed Danish's absence. Noone's indispensable. but commonsense dictates that you have to replace like with like. So Sami's inclusion at Danish's expense is a big folly. You definitely need a specialist spinner so either Mushtaq steps in to face the music or Danish plays (reluctantly). Hafeez is only a parttime spinner.
