Faisal & Asim are in for a joy ride as I don't see them as 'Test Batsmen' getting a winning partnership sometime soon.
Failed or doomed Razak would have been a better choice.

Asim has proved time and again that he is a match saviour. He needs more chances and you will see how many matches he will win for you from Number 6 position. He has all one will be required to play under pressure. This is something only Inzi has carried after Miandad. Asim may not be a geniune stroke player, but he is a TEST player 
for God sake. I was not expecting this from you

Unlike out impatient openers whose stroke play often leads to 2 down in the first hour of a test innings. Good teams always have few players who can bat for 10 hours sometime and make partnerships. When Asim is coming at 6, where Yousuf or Inzi are out, he has very slim window of making long partnerships with the tailenders.
If there is a better batsman in technique and temperament in domestic circuit, he should get preference over Asim. But for SA tour Asim should make a come back, let Yasif open with Farhat.
Razzaq is always the worst choice for Tests. Don’t you know, check out last 3 years of stats.
Moyo is in SA for last two days. He is playing second test.

Its pretty sad if you think about it. I mean, Sami has time and again showed that he has not been a match winning bowler but rather contributes to the loss more. The wides and the short balls that are whacked all over the ground.
I believe that wither Rana or Nazir should have been retained. Specially since they also played better than our batsmen. Its quite a blunder to replace Kaneria, you still need a spinner, at least he can keep the run rate low. Sami could have twice the run rate as Kaneria. No thought process at all, as we know in in the PCB. All the way from the top to the bottom. No other spinner selected, specially when you assistant coach is a specialist leg spinner. So in essence he is only coaching Kaneria, Hafeez & Farhat. That's scarry. At least Waqar could have coached 6 bowlers.
Asim does deserve a spot. Soon think about Inzi retiring from test after he gets to 10,000 runs. i dont think he will continue past that, as his back too has been giving alot of trouble in the recent times. So he'll make the record the bounce and then we have no one to hold the middle order and I believe Asim can do that with his temprament. He may not make a lot of "fast" runs but he can bat for a long time and build partnerships.

Actually, Asim is a pretty good Test player. In 2004/2005 series in Australia, he made 87 and played some pretty good shots when there was only the tail left to give him company.

With Nazir, Rana, and Kaneria, we'll be leaving our best batsmen out. These three scored the most runs in the last Test. Who's going to score if thee three aren't there?

Couple of days ago talking to Lahorimunda thats exactly what wewere discussing, i think this drop will be good to shake him up a bit!!! He has developed a mental comfort zone, knowing that he is an automatic pick for every test match, so this drop will do him good.

I agree with Nikema. That mntal comfort zone is something he needs to shrugg off. I dont doubt Danish's enthusiasm or his commitment but he tries too many things in the middle all varieties. Look at shanewarne, he has varieties but used them as a surprise after a while, not like danish who tries to bowl all varieties in one over.

Danish just need some time to sort out his bowling. If we keep on playing him without him being threat to opposition, he will become another Saqlain Mushtaq who used his doosra too much!!!
Lets just drop him for a game or two. Tell him the reason why he has been "rested" and he will hit back!
