does anyone know what to d o with DRY hair but a greasy scalp?
its a terrible combo cuz if I use an anti-dandruff shampoo my HAIR gets too dry, if I use conditioner, my scalp gets oily

i have dandruff from having OILY hair/scalp..i dont know how that happens but a day after a wash my hair my scalp gets kind of itchy and i start scratching and i get this weird oily/dandruffy thing on my fingers from my scalp. then when i brush my hair i can see little dandruffy flakes around my hair it looks ugly. i have used pure mustard oil in my hair before but it doesn't seem to help. can anyone recommend anything for my condition?

when you conditon your hair. put the conditioner at the ends of your hair but dont condition your scalp try it and see if it works. it worked for me :)

aaah, I was thinking about that, like get a anti-dandruff for the scalp and condidion only the ends but you cant clean ur hair with condioner right?

conditioner has the same stuff as shampoo but in lesser amounts. it should be fine for the ends because it's mainly the scalp that needs the thorough clean.
i wouldn't bother with anti danruff shampoos, just get nizoral and use it once a week (scalp only) and use a gentle shampoo for the rest of your hair and the in-between washes. i'm really liking aveda's balancing shampoo at the moment.
Re: Dandruff
oh thanks^^
will try that
Re: Dandruff
Why in the world would you condition your scalp in the first place ![]()
Re: Dandruff
Okay update for my dandruff: MUCH better, alhumdulillah! And my mom who does not like any shampoos whatsoever and uses a new one every week LOVED Nizoral! I gave it to her a month ago because she was having dandruff issues and I was just talking to her about it, she said it's awesome. I have only used it a couple of times because my mom had the shampoo bottle.. lol but I see the difference already.

woohoo! :)
lol not all over the scalp but around the hairline and stuff, I have curly hair(now its not as drizzy cuz I got it permanently straighted and its growing back but not as curly, more defned curls now) so it tends to frizz if I dont way it down with a bit of condioner
BTW DOES ANYONE HAVE THINNING HAIR ALONG WITH A IRRATATED ITCHY/DANDRUFF-Y SCALP?
my hair is thinning and its pretty evident it has something to do with me getting my hair relax/rebonded AKA straightend last summer ![]()

well hopefully, if you start using nizoral, once the dandruff and itchiness clears up you should notice an improvement in hair fall. it has been associated with reducing hair loss. i have also noted it myself.
i also started taking skin, hair and nail multivitamins too, so it's probably a combination of both.
