So you guys don't dance at weddings? Strange, that's a big highlight of the weddings I've ever attended, group dances, individual or just some funny skits.

its actually one and the same thing
like in those overly planned wedding events where the mehndi has all these elaborate dance numbers
dancers may be having fun, but after the first few dances, others are bored outta their mind

Jamming with the music is a lot of fun too on mehndis and such occasions...lots of energy and a great atmosphere.

Nope, not in mixed weddings. I've seen some hijabis dancing in the bathroom during weddings that get a little too fun and they can't exhaust their pent up energy in public lol.

I don't dance for fun. I sing though.

All the daughters of the Sheikh in our local mosque were sent to female only ballet classes as they were growing up to teach them gracefulness.. and mA they are all so graceful unlike clumsy old me

I think if it's something you enjoy then in a female only environment it should be fine.. Howeverrr there is a very fine line in maintaining your modesty and haya in certain types of dance.. In our culture dancing has been traditionally associated with prostitution and basically to please men.. That's why it's considered taboo

How can you see someone dancing in bathroom , don’t they lock the door ? Suppose they keep the door open , you need some open space to dance , unless they have a ballroom size bathroom. :konfused:

sadly they also know that people would leave… so usually the food is after the desi glee is over :frowning:
and if you notice unless the guys are checking the dancers curves out or dancing themselves, they are usually not around for the amateur choreography.

I am all for dancing and having fun, but recreating bollywood dancing is kinda lame

i mean if i really want to see that wouldnt I just watch the movie, more coordinated, more fit, and better looking ppl.
