Western world does degrade women, maybe not in teh same way that Pakistani society does, but they do.. Maybe our butts rn't pinched when we step out into the market, but women here are used as a cmmodity, to sell objects. You've herd the term "sex sells" right? Here, a womans entire self worth is equated into how she looks, and this is all wrong. It goes against some of the basic beliefs in Islam that women are more than how they look. But as much as I've said here and how I disagree about your statement, I'd still rather live in the West than live in Pak.
Who says that women don't have their butts pinched in public in pakistan. I went to the mazar in Karachi and as we were climbing the stairs to go up the stairs into the mazaar men were doing so!!!..............Give me a break, the way that men look at you in karachi whether their young, or old enough to be your grandfather would embarass you!!!.....I was astonished and grossed out, at least if here in the west if even a man is staring if you look at them they do have the decency to look away, in karachi they were shameless they would still undress you with their eyes.

dance parties should happen more often...mullahs don't rule this country..musharraf does...who is a moderate myself..he loves dance parties....and drinks a bit of whisky too every now and then...I think we need a kamal Ata Turk like Musharraf who can tell these intolerant,twisted mullah types who have been nothing, but a disaster for this country so far to shove it up their a$$ and go to hell...so that foreign investors would feel more comforotable coming here and Pakistan can improve economically.

First of all Pakistan is an ISLAMIC country and we should respect our religion.
Second, following the foot steps of other countries like American or India isnt making us any better. Pakistan doesn't need to follow others. If u think dance parties are improving the economy in anyway, then sorry to say they arent. To have a better economy we need educated ppl and better education, why not ppl work on improving that first!

in theory it can,more dance parties,a more liberal culture attracts more tourists,which in turn helps the tourism industry n the economy...dubai is a perfect example of that...Musharraf would love to make Pakistan like U.A.E,but mullahs won't let him...frankly,Musharraf should not be afraid to use force against all the islamic extremists in Pakistan who are opposing him.. thats what moderate muslims like Ata Turk,Arab leaders in Jordan,Egypt,U.A.E did...the end result was that their countries became progressive and economically stronger.

I was sitting with one of my Arabic friend, watching a TV drama of an Arabic country (Sorry, I don’t want to disclose the name of country).
He started discussion on the people of different countries.
He told me “If you want to know about the ppl or living style of any country, just watch their TV Drama or Movies”.
I guess, he was right…
Here in Dubai, Arabic people also watch movies of our countries (Indian/Pakistani, with translation), and they admire…
You’re talking about half naked…, he told me, how your girls go outside home in sleeveless shirts, It’s Haraam in Islam???
