Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
Man-kind is bound to errors. You start a fire using a match stick now, later you will start a fire on trees then the whole forest and then the whole region. So why start something that will cause a ripple effect in future.
Modern way of life shouldn't be expected in places where there is no exception of such culture-wise and religion wise. Yes, muslim countries do face problems, and like i said, they are caught in a world between 'Culture' and 'Religion'... and now 'American' democracy or as how natives used to say it "white-disease".
In regards to the comment :
"Muslim countries don't face problems? You must be delusional. Is that why a woman doesn't feel safe walking the streets alone, day or night? Oh, I know what you're going to say, "A woman shouldn't be walking the streets alone. Right......
-- Fret Wizard"
Women aren't even safe in the western world either. :)
If you should speak in regards to keeping open concept between man and woman then you do speak against the wills of Sharia law.
This way of life is not ours and we shouldn't accept it at any cost.
One must first understand the rules that are binded in Islam and then open a proper topic on reasons why women shouldn't do what they are doing in .pk :)
Fretz i hope i didn't hurt your feelings, i am just having an open concept chit chat :P

Why shouldn't modernism exist in Muslim countries? Do you want them to stay in the middle ages forever?

You must be joking right? The western world is the safest place for women as it stands right now. Women feel safe to walk freely at anytime of day, without feeling scared of people pinching their bottoms at the marketplace, or singing to them as they walk by, or kidnapping them in broad daylight. Please tell me you were joking with that comment above.

That may be true, I don't agree with a lot of what the Sharia law states.

What would you rather do, have women locked up in the house, while men go to to work?

Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
Western world does degrade women, maybe not in teh same way that Pakistani society does, but they do.. Maybe our butts rn’t pinched when we step out into the market, but women here are used as a cmmodity, to sell objects. You’ve herd the term “sex sells” right? Here, a womans entire self worth is equated into how she looks, and this is all wrong. It goes against some of the basic beliefs in Islam that women are more than how they look. But as much as I’ve said here and how I disagree about your statement, I’d still rather live in the West than live in Pak. Here, at least you get the chocie to follow whatever you want. You can follow Islam without any stupid cultural barriers holding u back. Here, no one will talk crap abt you if u wear hijab or miniskirt. Everyone minds their business here and respects each others beliefs, and that’s something you don’t find too much in Pak.
Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
The issue was not about degredation of women, it was about the safety of women. However, if you want to get into that, then you have to realize that people have different opinions on what degradation is. For a western woman, a “sex sells” mentality doesn’t qualify as “degredation”, it can qualify as freedom. For all you know, they may see women in Islamic society as being degraded, which they are, and even more so than in western society.
Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
Arright well when it comes to safety, then I'd rather live here.. at least here if u get raped or harassed, ur more likely to be taken seriously than sya in Pak where htey'll blame you or something. Maybe in Islamic societies they are degraded but women in Islam are NOT degraded; there's a stark difference there..
Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
oh comeon...dance parties r good for boys....we boys use advan of those roshan khayal modernize girls...such girls satisfy us ....dance parties r good...making women sex toys is good......following west is great beac we boys have the tafreeh in girls...hell to those extremists who want to make women look respectful..
Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
No, you obviously didn’t read the statement that I was replying to, which was “Modern way of life shouldn’t be expected in places where there is no exception of such culture-wise and religion wise”.
I think you just embarrased yourself if you believe the amount of sexual harrasment in the western world exceeds that of Muslim countries. Now, unless you work at a strip club, enlighten me with those harrasment numbers.
Of course it’s universal, genius. The type of harrasment and the level of security differs between the two areas of the world. It’s clearly a LOT more dangerous for women over “there” than it is here. If that’s something you can’t accept, then you’re not living in reality.

I don’t think there is a “safest” place for women, but yea sometimes there cud b some “safer” places…as a woman, when i feel scared for my safety at nite for example, then it cud be when i’m walking alone somewhere in Pakistan, America or Europe. Bad things happen everywhere…but i do agree with u about the modernism…it’s not rite for ppl to want to keep their daughters, sister, wives etc., locked up just out of fear. The key is balance i guess.
As far as the topic goes, i haven’t seen this show. And i understand how some of u r appalled that this is happening in Pakistan, it is bad in some sense…but let’s not judge these ppl just becos they r dancing somewhere…if ur not into that stuff, fine avoid it and move onto the next…u’ll find different types of ppl in every country.
Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
just cannot believe tht there r people who support such things which r corrupting our culture.....but afterall, those who r not against such things r american shifted or confused useless production muslims and pakistanis......

have u attended any dance party in karachi or lahore??......mein khayal say nahi kiyon kay tum yeh na bolti...
Re: DANCE PARTY in Lahore
^ Listen, that's not the point...i'm not supporting it...wot i was saying is that it is bad in the sense that Pakistan is a muslim country...BUT, u can't judge someone just bcos they r at a dance party, jeez.
