Re: Dajjal: System or Person?
I dunno Mr. Popat …

Here is a white jet (concept), that has a wing span of 60 feet = 40 cubits.
It looks quite intimidating … I think the donkey is not a literal reference. We also believe that the Dajjal will be mistaken by the Jews to be Messiah … so this link is interesting too.
The Messiah’s Donkey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to Hassidic teaching the donkey is a symbol of the fact that the Messiah and Messianic age will not oppose the material world, but rather harness it for sacred purposes. Thus, the act of riding upon the donkey is a symbol of the sovereignty of the Messiah over the **material world **(represented by the donkey).
Our understanding cannot veer too far away from the Jewish understanding - except that it will be opposite … For them they are already saying that Messiah and his instruments will dominate the material world …
Since the belief is that it will not be literally a donkey - it can’t die or be killed … Yes … the killing of Dajjal will be only be possible by a prophet of Allah (SWT) … so to be permissible is an understatement - it has to be necessary. Al-Khidr also killed the young boy who would grow to be evil and he had not even done any wrong at that point in time.
Many people will not be okay with Isa (AS) killing Dajjal … but that is what war is about …
So a literal human-like creature who will be blind from one eye will be on a metaphoric donkey. Perhaps it’s ok to say that the dajjal may well be a pilot by profession ?
Also, why is it that one part of the hadith is taken literally while the other not literally ?
No one will be ok with Jesus to be killing dajjal, my friend. You think Jesus a.s will kil dajjal and not face any consequences? and also go around breaking crosses and killing of swines?
