** DAAM **

Re: ** DAAM **

i liked all the pics in the end..:)

Re: ** DAAM **

Once again Mehreen J and Umera Ahmed partnership has created a drama that is nothing short of genius. It was a fitting finale and I was glued to the screen! I would like to express my thanks to the 'Daam' team.

Re: ** DAAM **

And once again I would like to say that I hated the ending!!!

Re: ** DAAM **

It's easily a classic! :) wish there was a way to find out how did the ratings go of the final episode, like they do with american shows. I've heard people on tv talking about 'ratings' few times, which means the channels do have the device or how ever its done to measure the viewers number. Ary should put daam's ratings up on wiki ! (all 18 epis)

The actors from Ptv period always talk about how roads and market places used to get emptied when tanhaiyaan was on at prime time, aangan tehra and other great dramas. Ptv would ofcourse know the ratings in numbers, thats hot information and should be made public.

Re: ** DAAM **

^^ The last episode was pretty popular. Everyone I know was talking about it -- it's sort of a Pakistani pop-culture milestone in that for the first time you have a drama serial that's caught the imagination of the young. And yes, I would love to know the ratings -- perhaps that's something Mehreen J can tell us more about?

Re: ** DAAM **

On Daam's fb page, Mehreen J clarified that both Maliha and Junaid Separated from their respective spouses (don't recall if she mentioned divorce)

Re: ** DAAM **

mehreeen YOU ROCK!!! I can't thank you enough for keeping us entertained for 18 weeks...amazing ending...LOVED adeel hussain's acting...this guy certainly has a lot of potential. Great job by the whole daam team. Can't wait for your next serial.

Re: ** DAAM **

I've also enjoyed Dhoop Kinarey, Marvi, and Doraha and I would put Daam in the same league minus a few editing hiccups due to adding 2 more episodes.

Re: ** DAAM **

I agree -- the reaction from the audience perhaps would have been even more massive had they stuck to the usual 13 episode format. But having said that, this really was quite fantastic. I never could relate to the fedual-storylines that dominated the drama scene in the 90s, this is really after EONS that they have a young, fresh lineup of actors performing well. Doraha was great but really the lead actors were middle aged which kind of took away from the feel of the storyline.

Re: ** DAAM **

Thank you all for your support and patience for the last 18 weeks! We have received many passionate responses from a lot of people hating the ending and many who have loved it but I think Umera has written a detailed reasoning to that on the discussion board of the Daam facebook page. The entire team of Daam had an incredible time while making the serial and I think that really helps in the outcome. We have become a Daam family almost. During the entire process of 10 months, from the shoot that started end Jan, to the months that I edited the serial in New York, to the additional week of shooting in Sept and then further editing, a lot of the cast, the writer and some of the crew members and I were in touch throughout, discussing each episode, the faults and what went right and giving each other very constructive criticism and appreciation and that is what is magical about this medium. The coming together of so many minds and hoping to make something that will move people the same way that it moved us.
Nothing is ever perfect and we all hope to learn from the mistakes and enjoy all that went right. Your opinions and suggestions are all heard and matter a lot but in the end no story/film/TV drama will satisfy every single person all the time. :)
Thank you once again.

Re: ** DAAM **

Mehreen, You did an awesome job, though i was expecting a different end but may be it was because we all like happy endings and seeing good things happening to good people and bad to evil.... but the end you showed on the screen did make sense after sometime...it is just that everyone was left with "thishnagi" in their lives which makes it quite real but sad ending on the screen....

Kudos to your team, all of you did an excellent work...it was one drama that i followed religiously ...looking forward to your upcoming projects...once again congrats

Re: ** DAAM **

Mehreen, great drama. Please i want the Daam team to be on the morning show. Also please share with us good and bad events during the shooting. Please tell about your favorite scene in the drama. Who cooperate with you and who does not? etc

Re: ** DAAM **

Well done by the Daam crew! What a powerful last episode, the confrontational scene between Maleeha and Zara nearly made me cry, as did the closure scene between Junaid and Zara. The ending was sad but realistic. Poor Junaid loses throughout despite being a genuine guy. I'm really sad that it's over so soon, since I watched the entire drama on the net in a span of about a week. Mehreen your work is truly appreciated :)

Re: ** DAAM **

mehreen i liked its cast soo much n every1 did great job.....plzzz ab senior artists ko cast na karain..i dnt want to see them any more..thx

Re: ** DAAM **

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent and Excellent drama. everybody gave a totally wonderful and sooo realistic performances. literally every single/small character was great. i must point out nimra bucha (asma) was superb, she is a theatre actress but this is the first time i have seen her acting and she was excellent..plus behroze as that mamoon was wow and you do have such ppl in real life...and also i would like to mention sanam sayeed as fizza....when i used to watch her as a vj on agg/the musik i use to think no she cannot do any good acting but she was totally brilliant (when i saw ijazat i just thought sanam agha aka farah could have been a good choice as fizza too) anyhow fizza performed really well. every episode was such an excitement to watch. it was good that they didnot end it with typical ending like junaid and zara getting married instead zara showed respect for herself and for junaid/maleehaz family...bechara is saare chakkar main junaid ne suffer kiya. and here i was just thinking its a humayon's production yet he is not in the drama but he popped up. with mehreen jabbarz excellent direction and every single characters brilliant acting, this drama turned out to be superb one. and it teaches us the msg that will power to make decision or how to look at something is really important rather than other people telling you how to do it. coz if that other person is your enemy too then you end up in a mess just like maleeha.

btw what happened to manno? they didnot show anything about her...just two flash backs so i am assuming she died? but how?...i didnot miss any dialogue or scene. can anyone throw some light on it plz

plus maleeha goes back to yasir right? coz he wanted her to come back despite the fact that junaid was divorcing fizza.

Re: ** DAAM **

Manno died, because when mithu dies and zara left for uk, there was nobody to takecare of her.
I think Maleeha is still at her parants home but one day she will be back to her husband yasir, it will take some time.

Re: ** DAAM **

oh manno dies-they should have shown something regarding to this

Re: ** DAAM **

Yeah it was sad the way they shoved Mano under the bus...but all the flaws aside, this serial had an amazing ensemble cast, great storyline and some amazing photography by the DOP Asad Malik, and was overall very well put together by Mehreen J, so it doesn't take much to overlook the weaknesses :)

Re: ** DAAM **

zara should have married junaid :(

Re: ** DAAM **

When did they show this??
