Finally we got some action from Maleeha, and Zara is so smart that she figured out INSTANTLY that Maleeha actually hates her! Great acting by the two!
I think Zara should have just gone to the jeweler and sold her pendant. Faltoo mein Maleeha ko de ker sirf 50,000 liye. I am guessing it was a diamond pendant and she could have gotten more Oh well that’s the Daam she has to pay - silly girl!
I still think Zara will be fine w/out Junaid. She is probably more upset at losing a friend than losing Junaid at this point.
^^ Yes, but I think Maleeha's twisted deep inside and the blame partly lies with Zara too for not sharing such an important detail of her life with what was her best friend. I sensed that this is what it would come down to though -- that Zara leaves Junaid for some money, hence the title "Daam."
@R-bibi; No, she cannot sell it to a jeweler because its not just a pendant but a valuable gift from someone special and she had to hand over it to maleeha for some obvious reason. And yes, she is more upset at losing a best friend than losing junaid.
@stalker; I don't think zara should be blamed for hiding her commitment with junaid from maleeha, because firstly she never knew that junaid will dare to propose her due to family background issues, secondly (after proposal) she was feeling shy and little bit awkward to share it with maleeha like "maleeha, TUMHAARE BHAI ne mujhe propose kiya hai" (keep yourself in her place and think about it)

Maleeha will humiliate zara MORE before her parents by a false accusation that she was already engaged and she has cheated junaid by hiding it.
wohi hova jis ka dar tha. very sad epi but has taken an interesting turn. i wanna see maleeha's face jub fizza us ki bhhabi bun ker sub ka hasher keray gee.
Liked the confrontation. After seeing it I feel that Maleeha issues are beyond zara and junaid hiding their relationship.If that were the case, she would've vented out but not tried to buy Zara out of the relationship.
I get the impression that deep down she was always envious of zara's academic success but these feelings didn't surface as she never saw Zara as an equal but rather someone who depended on her for hand me downs and money. with Junaid marrying Zara, she see's the dynamics of her relationship with Zara completely shift which she is unable to cope with.
Mammoo and his wife are unbearable at this point and aren't adding any value to the plot. I don't understand why these characters are being given so much significance.
Looking at the promo, I feel that there will be some other tragedy. junaid marrying fiza? someone in Zara's family dying. There are scenes that suggest this and they haven't aired yet: junaid hugging zara while she is crying. Zara walking like a zombie sans dupatta while maleeha is in the background.
I am not sure if "Daam" means price in this drama. If you recall the lyrics of the song, they go something like this "dhoka ya daam tha?"
Another meaning of the word "Daam" is cage or "Pingara"(in urdu). thoughts?
i went back n saw the OST again there are scenes where zara looks well off and maleeha comes to her new apartment. there are some scenes between zara n junaid too. i think from now onwards zara will change too with maleeha. she will grow n succeed and may be maleeha will one day come back to her with regret. i'm not sure if junaid will marry fizza. i think he won't.
i dnt think zara is going to sell her pendant....and i hate how maleeha humiliates her..too bad...
i think yasir's family will force junaid to marry fizza but he should fight for zara.....
I loved this episode. Great acting by the people playing Zara and Maleeha. The dialogues were really good, especially when Zara says that Maleeha isn't just mad at her, she hates her.
Apparently this serial is going to go on for another 6 or 7 episodes, so there's much potential for new twists and turns. I like the reversal of fortunes theory, from OST clips it does seem as if something along those lines is going to happen.
I don't see how they can stretch it for 6 more episodes...
Ashdame - I think that's what they are trying to tell people that the class differences are created by man to belittle others who they think are "below" them. People need to learn to look beyond how much money is in my bank account and what type of house I live in. That should not be a basis of a friendship or a relationship.
I appreciate how you dont look down upon lower middle class people but trust me i thought exactly like you and had this real life experience after which i learnt how wrong i was. Cannot narrate my personal experience here but relationships between major class differences are a big no-no. And hence i totally agree with maleeha though she shouldnt have been this rude to zara but should have silently parted ways also should have let her brother see the consequences himself.
Oh well that’s the Daam she has to pay - silly girl!
